Phí-jîn tī Tâi-lâm Sîn-ha̍k-hāu chāi-ha̍k tiong, ū 3 uī sio chiap-soà chò hāu-tiúⁿ: Liâm Tek-lia̍t Bo̍k-su kap Pa Khek-lé Bo̍k-su, Sòng Tiong-kian Bo̍k-su. Liâm Bo̍k-su sèng-chêng un-sûn, bīn-iông chhiò-chhī, hō͘ lâng hó chhin-kīn; hoān-sū iā chin jīn-chin. Si̍t-chāi sī hó ê hāu-tiúⁿ. Pa Bo̍k-su ê sū m̄-bián goá kóng, chē-chē lóng chai. I sī kia̍t-chhut ê soan-kàu-su, phok-ha̍k to-châi koh iā to-gē: Cheng-thong chē-chē ê ha̍k-su̍t kap gú-giân. I ū kà chá-tāi ê sîn-ha̍k-seng soà gián-kiù bu̍t-lí, hoà-ha̍k, thian-bûn, tē-lí téng-téng. I m̄-nā ū ko-chhim kóng-tāi jî-chhiáⁿ ū sûn-chêng ê sîn-ha̍k su-siúⁿ gâu kà ha̍k-seng; koh iā kái-e̍k Pe̍h-oē-jī Sin Kū-iok chin chiàu goân-bûn. Pa Phok-sū hàn-ha̍k chin pá, ēng基督道綱 á-sī 基督教與科學 chò khò-pún lâi kà ha̍k-seng, koh ū tha̍k 三國誌,二度梅 téng-téng ê hàn-chheh kap siáu-soat. I ē toâⁿ-khîm kà seng-ga̍k, iā ē phah-kiû kap kiâⁿ-kî. Pa Phok-sū tuì-tiōng lêng-siu, muí-ji̍t tha̍k Siōng-tè ê oē: Sin Kū-iok Sèng-keng muí nî tiāⁿ-tio̍h tha̍k chi̍t piàn; chhut-goā lú-hêng tiong iā chiàu siông bô làng. Tī Sîn-ha̍k-hāu i ū-sî kóng, ‘Lán lâi lé-pài,’ sī kan-ta kî-tó nā-tiāⁿ. Pa Phok-sū kap phí-jîn tuì Siōng-hái beh tò-lâi ê sî (1922 nî), tī Hok-chiu saⁿ-kap keh chi̍t mê. Beh khùn ê í-chêng Pa Bo̍k-su kóng, ‘Lán lâi lé-pài.’ Goá siūⁿ sī chhin-chhiūⁿ tī ha̍k-hāu ê sî kan-ta beh kî-tó nā-tiāⁿ. Bô phah-sǹg i the̍h chi̍t pún Sin Kū-iok toā-toā pún ê Sèng-keng chhut-lâi kau-tho̍k chiah saⁿ-kap kî-tó. Lé-pài liáu, goá kóng kan-ta tī-chia keh chi̍t mê nā-tiāⁿ, lí iā the̍h Sin Kū-iok lâi! Pa Bo̍k-su kóng, ‘Tio̍h--nò͘! ài tha̍k m̄ tō the̍h lâi.’ Si̍t-chāi ū chin hó ê bô͘-hoān. Ha̍k-seng nā khì chhoē Pa Bo̍k-sū kóng oē, beh lī-khui ê sî i siông-siông chio lâng kî-tó. Í-chêng tī Sîn-ha̍k-hāu pài-la̍k bô tha̍k-chheh, ū kî-tó-hoē. Chèng sian-siⁿ kap ha̍k-seng lóng chū-chi̍p. Ta̍k lâng ū chi̍t tè chháu-tún, kî-tó ê sî tāi-ke lóng kuī tī chháu-tún ê téng-bīn. Lâng kóng Pa Bo̍k-su ê khò͘ tī kha-thâu-u ê só͘-chāi chē-chē ū phoà-khang, sī in-uī i siông-siông kuī-teh kî-tó ê iân-kò͘. Sòng Tiong-kian Bo̍k-su chò Sîn-ha̍k hāu-tiúⁿ, iā ū lâu chin chē ê kám-hoà tī ha̍k-seng ê náu-lāi. I ê sèng-chit sui-jiân ū khah kip, chóng-sī kàu-ha̍k jīn-chin, tuì ha̍k-seng ū jia̍t-lia̍t ê thiàⁿ-chêng. Si̍t-chāi sī thiàⁿ kàu-hoē, thiàⁿ ha̍k-hāu, iā chin thiàⁿ ha̍k-seng ê hāu-tiúⁿ. I ka-kī ê ji̍t-siông seng-oa̍h hui-siông khiām-phok, chóng-sī ū thiàⁿ-sim gâu tông-chêng kan-khó͘ lâng. Sòng Bo̍k-su chin giâm-siú sî-kan: m̄-bat bān lâi, m̄-bat thoa-koè tiám. Ta̍k hāng chin ài chiàu kui-kí, kóng oē ná chio̍h chām jī.

ài koh siá chi̍t hāng siàu-liām Sòng Bo̍k-su chiah lâi kiat-sok. A. D. 1918 nî, Phêⁿ-ô͘ Tang-kiat ê hiaⁿ-tī Lîm Chong lâi tuì Sòng Bo̍k-su chhéng phài ha̍k-seng khì hā-kî thoân-tō. Í-keng koat-tēng phài Iûⁿ Chiau-gī kap Iûⁿ Sū-ióng beh khì Tang-kiat. Lîm Chong hiaⁿ tī 6 goe̍h boé lâi Tâi-lâm bé sam-liāu, ài tò-khì thang khí chhù chò khiā-ke kap chū-hoē ê só͘-chāi. Chhâi-liāu pān hó, chiū lâi kā chit nn̄g ê ha̍k-seng kóng, lán chò-hoé tuì chia chē chûn kàu Tang-kiat khah lī-piān; m̄-bián hō͘ lín chē chûn kàu Má-keng chiah koh lâi Tang-kiat ê kan-khó͘. Goán thiaⁿ-liáu chin hoaⁿ-hí, m̄-kú tio̍h koh kuí-nā ji̍t ha̍k-hāu chiah hioh-joa̍h. Só͘-í chiū khì kā Sòng Bo̍k-su kóng. Sòng Bo̍k-su thiaⁿ liáu chiū kóng, “Goá koat-toàn m̄ chún, in-uī ha̍k-hāu iáu-boē hioh-khùn.” Hit-sî goán si̍t-chāi ū put-boán, in-uī cheng-chha 4, 5 ji̍t nā-tiāⁿ Sòng Bo̍k-su m̄-chún goán khì. āu-lâi tio̍h ke khai só͘-huì, hō͘ goán chē chûn oan chin hn̄g ke loā-chē kan-khó͘. Chóng-sī hāu-tiúⁿ m̄-chún tō sī m̄-chún, bô hoat-tō͘ chí-ū sūn-ho̍k. 1918 nî 6 goe̍h 30 jit, Lîm Chong hiaⁿ in ê chûn tuì An-pêng chhut káng liáu-āu, chiū khí hong-thai. Hit chiah chûn kap chûn-lāi ê lâng put-ti khì-hiòng; í-goā ū sún-sit chin chē chûn-chiah. āu-lâi tī Hó͘-chéⁿ ū lâng khioh-tio̍h nn̄g ki sam, koh 3 ê sin-si, sī kap Lîm Chong siāng chûn ê lâng.

Kàu 7 goe̍h chhe, goán tuì Ko-hiông chē hoé-chûn kàu Má-keng. Goán chē Hōng-thian-oân ji̍p káng ê sî, Iû Sè-chù Bo̍k-su kap kuí-nā ê hiaⁿ-tī chiūⁿ chûn chhiⁿ-chin ti̍t-ti̍t chhoē. Iûⁿ Bo̍k-su khoàⁿ-tio̍h goán ê sî, tah sim-koaⁿ kóng, “Hó ka-chài, hó ka-chài! Goán chin hoân-ló, kiaⁿ-liáu lín chē Chong hiaⁿ ê chûn.” In-uī Chong-hiaⁿ kap chûn hoān-hong, put-ti khì-hiòng! Hit tia̍p goán thiaⁿ liáu chiah chai tio̍h kám-siā Thiⁿ-pē, iā tio̍h kám-siā Sòng Bo̍k-su. Nā m̄-sī Sòng Bo̍k-su kóng, “Goá koat-toàn m̄-chún,” chiū goán m̄-chai tuì tó-uī khì lah! (Iok-hān 13:7).

數念恩師

鄙人佇台南神學校在學中,有三位相接紲做校長:廉德烈牧師佮巴克禮牧師,宋忠堅牧師。廉牧師性情溫純,面容笑市,予人好親近;凡事也真認真。實在是好的校長。巴牧師的事毋免我講,濟濟攏知。伊是傑出的宣教師,博學多才閣也多藝:精通濟濟的學術佮語言。伊有教早代的神學生紲研究物理、化學、天文、地理等等。伊毋若有高深廣大而且有純情的神學思想gâu教學生;閣也改譯白話字新舊約真照原文。巴牧博士漢學真飽,用基督道綱抑是基督教與科學做課本來教學生,閣有讀三國誌、二度梅等等的漢冊佮小說。伊會彈琴教聲樂,也會拍球佮行棋。巴博士對重靈修,每日讀上帝的話:新舊約聖經每年定著讀一遍;出外旅行中也照常無閬。佇神學校伊有時講「咱來禮拜」。是kan-ta祈禱若定。巴博士佮鄙人對上海欲倒--來的時 (1922年),佇福州相佮隔一暝。欲睏的以前巴博士講「咱來禮拜。」我想是親像佇學校的時kan-ta欲祈禱若定。無拍算伊提一本新舊約大大本的聖經出來交讀才相佮祈禱。禮拜了,我講kan-ta佇遮隔一暝若定,你也提新舊約來!巴博士講:「著--nò͘!愛讀毋就提--來」。實在有真好的模範。學生若去揣巴博士講話,欲離開的時伊常常招人祈禱。以前佇神學校拜六無讀冊,有祈禱會。眾先生佮學生攏聚集。逐人有一塊草tún,祈禱的時逐家攏跪佇草tún的頂面。人講巴博士的褲佇跤頭u的所在濟濟有破空,是因為伊常常跪teh祈禱的緣故。(現時英國劍橋神學院也是按呢-禮拜祈禱的時逐家攏跪--落去)。

宋忠堅牧師做神學校長,也有留真濟的感化佇學生的腦內。伊的性質雖然有較急,總--是教學認真,對學生有熱烈的疼情。實在是疼教會、疼學校,也真疼學生的校長。伊家己的日常生活非常儉樸,總--是有疼心gâu同情艱苦人。宋牧師真嚴守時間;毋捌慢來。毋捌拖過點。逐項真愛照規矩,講話若石鏨字。

愛閣寫一項數念宋牧師才來結束。A. D. 1918年,澎湖東吉的中弟林宗來對宋牧師請派學生去夏期傳道。已經決定派楊昭義佮楊思勇欲去東吉。林宗兄弟佇6月尾來台南買杉料,愛倒去通起厝做企家佮聚會的所在。材料辦好,就來共這兩个學生講,咱做伙對遮坐船到東結較利便;毋免予恁坐船到媽宮才閣來東吉的艱苦。阮聽了真歡喜,毋過著閣幾若日才歇熱。所以就去共宋牧師講。宋牧師聽了就講:「我決斷毋准,因為學校猶未歇睏。」彼時阮實在有不滿,因為精差四、五日若定宋牧師毋准阮去。後來著加開所費,予阮坐船彎真遠加偌濟艱苦。總--是校長毋准就是毋准,無法度只有順服。1918年6月30日,林宗兄in的船對安平出境了後,就起風颱。彼隻船佮船內的人不知去向;以外有損失真濟船隻。後來佇虎井有人拾著兩枝杉,閣三个身屍,是佮林宗兄siāng船的人。

到七月初,阮對高雄坐火船到媽宮。阮坐奉天丸入港的時,楊世註牧師佮幾若个兄弟上船生真直直揣。楊牧師看著阮的時,搭心肝講:「好佳哉,好佳哉!阮真煩惱,驚了恁坐宗兄的船。」因為宗兄佮船犯風,不知去向!彼霎阮聽了才知著感謝天父,也著感謝宋牧師。若毋是宋牧師講:「我決斷毋准」,就阮毋知對tó位去--lah!(約翰 13:7)
