Chit só͘-chāi ê chhiⁿ-hoan in-uī beh kì-liām in chó͘-kong sī tuì hái-goā soá lâi toà chit ê Tâi-oân-tó ê, ū pó-chûn nn̄g-chiah ê to̍k-bo̍k-chûn. Chi̍t-chiah sī beh àu beh àu, só͘-í chiah koh choè chi̍t-chiah sin-ê lâi pó͘. Nn̄g-chiah lóng khǹg tī hái-kîⁿ ê chháu-chhù-lāi. Bián-kóng in tāi-seng lâi Tâi-oân ê sî sī tiàm tī hái-piⁿ ê pêng-iá. Chóng-sī tuì keng-kè ji̍t-chhim, ge̍h-kú, in ê lâng-sò͘ ke-thiⁿ, koh-chài phiau-liû-chiá lâi kap in choè-hé tiàm. M̄-nā án-ni, in ê si̍p-koàn koh sī chiong thó-lia̍h choè pún-gia̍p, só͘-í ji̍t-ji̍t kám-kak-tio̍h seng-oa̍h ê kan-khó͘. Tuì án-ni in chiah chiām-chiām soá ji̍p-khì soaⁿ-lāi, khah ū chiáu-siù teh toà ê só͘-chāi, ū chin-choē lâng ê soat teh kóng, in ê poaⁿ ji̍p khì soaⁿ-lāi tiàm ê lí-iû, sī hō͘ āu-lâi chhim-ji̍p Tâi-oân lâi tiàm ê bîn-cho̍k kā koáⁿ ê só͘-tì. Chóng-sī chit-khoán ê soat sī m̄-tio̍h; in-uī téng-bīn só͘ siá ê lí-iû, á-sī in ê kháu-pi kap thoân-soat ia̍h m̄-sī án-ni. Koh-chài lán nā lâi tiau-cha Hô-lân lâng ê kì-lio̍k ia̍h oē thang tām-po̍h chai; tī in ê kì-lio̍k ū siá kóng, in boē-ji̍p Tâi-oân ê í-chêng, í-keng ū lâng tiàm tī soaⁿ-lāi táu-toé lah. Lūn kàu seng-chûn kèng-cheng ê sit-pāi-chiá, si̍t-chāi m̄-sī chhiⁿ-hoan, tian-tò sī kui-hoà ê se̍k-hoan. Hit ê siāng tē-it bêng ê lē, chiū-sī ‘Sai-se-to’ cho̍k. In téng-pang bat kui-hoà choè se̍k-hoan, chóng-sī in-uī in ê seng-oa̍h chin tan-sûn, tì-kàu kap ‘Hàn-bîn-cho̍k’ boē-thang kèng-cheng tit; só͘-í chiah koh tò-tńg khì in ê goân-sí seng-oa̍h, khì o̍h ‘Tāi-iá-cho̍k’ ê si̍p-koàn hong-sio̍k, choè ‘Tāi-iá-cho̍k’ ê chi̍t pō͘-hūn.
In ê siā-hoē cho͘-chit chiū-sī siāng chi̍t ê hoeh-cho̍k ê lâng choè-hé lâi choè chi̍t ê hiuⁿ-chng; khiok ū-sî ia̍h ū kuí-nā ê hoeh-cho̍k lâi chū-chi̍p choè-hé ê ia̍h m̄-sī bô. Chit ê hiuⁿ-chng ê lâng-sò͘ chiàu choè-kūn ê tiau-cha ū 150 lâng kàu 700 lâng ê tiong-kan. Chóng-sī lán nā lâi tiau-cha Hô-lân lâng lâi koán Tâi-oân ê le̍k-sú, chiū chai hit-sî ‘Sin-kang’ ê lâng-sò͘ ū 3000 í-siōng. Tuì án-ni lán thang chhui-siūⁿ tī in ke̍k-sēng ê sî-tāi tek-khak iáu-ū koh khah-choē lâng. Bô-lūn sím-mi̍h hiuⁿ-chng lóng ū chi̍t-ê thâu-lâng. In ê thâu-lâng ū choa̍t-tuì ê koân-lī. Thâu-lâng koh lo̍h-lâi ia̍h ū tióng-ló, siàu-liân-lâng tio̍h ài thiaⁿ in. In teh kéng thâu-lâng it-poaⁿ sī ēng bú-ióng lâi choè, kan-ta chi̍t-tiâu ê tiâu-kiāⁿ, chóng-sī chhin-chhiūⁿ ‘Pai-oân-cho̍k’ ia̍h ū sè-si̍p ê. In ê siông-sio̍k sī ēng tióng-chú, só͘-í chiah ū cha-bó͘ thâu-lâng.
Taⁿ chiong ‘Ia-mi-cho̍k’ ê siā-hoē cho͘-chit lâi kóng tām-po̍h. Chit cho̍k ê siā-hoē cho͘-chit ū hun sì khoán, sī ēng in ê nî-hoè lâi hun--ê. Chiū-sī Iù-liân-cho͘, Chheng-liân-cho͘, Tiong-liân-cho͘ kap Ló-liân-cho͘; kok cho͘ lóng ū i ê cho͘-tiúⁿ. Ló-liân-cho͘ ê cho͘-tiúⁿ chiū-sī thâu-lâng. Hoān-nā ū sím-mi̍h tiōng-tāi sū-kiāⁿ lóng sī chit ê Ló-liân-cho͘ teh kái-koat. Kî-tiong ū chi̍t hāng chin sim-sek ê siā-hoē chè-tō͘, chiū-sī Pai-oân-cho̍k ê Toā-siā ê chè-tō͘. Hiān-sî iáu ē thang chai kó͘-chá in ê siōng-bú-tek ê kàu-io̍k. Hit ê kàu-io̍k-hoat, choân-jiân kap Se-iûⁿ ê Su-pah-Iu-ta ê kàu-io̍k-hoat sio-siāng. In ê kàu-io̍k-hoat, chiū-sī ta-po͘ gín-ná nā kàu cha̍p-jī-saⁿ hè tio̍h ài lī-khui pē-bú, khì toà tī Iù-liân-ha̍p-siok-só͘, kiò-choè ‘Ta-ko-ban’ ê só͘-chāi. Saⁿ, sì nî kú tiàm tī hit ha̍p-siok-só͘ choè-hé seng-oa̍h kàu cha̍p-la̍k-chhit hè, chiū soá khì Chheng-liân-ha̍p-siok-só͘, kiò-choè ‘Ba-li-sun’ ê só͘-chāi tiàm. Tī chit ha̍p-siok-só͘ thoàn-liān saⁿ-nî kú, chiah oē thang pìⁿ-choè chòng-liân. Chi̍t-ē ji̍p-khì chit ê Chheng-liân-ha̍p-siok-só͘, bô-lūn tióng-ló sím-mi̍h bēng-lēng lóng tio̍h thiaⁿ. Tī chit tiong-kan ióng-sêng siōng-bú ê tek-hēng, khiam-sùn ê tek-hēng kap jím-nāi ê tek-hēng. Tī chit saⁿ-nî kú giâm-kìm chia̍h hun, chia̍h chiú, chhēng suí-saⁿ, thiàu-bú kap lú-sèng kóng oē.
In ê kiat-hun būn-tê chám-jiân chū-iû, chám-jiân ū chun-tiōng lâm-lú ê ì-kiàn. Bián-kóng ia̍h tio̍h ài lióng-pêng ê pē-bú tông-ì. Kiat-hun ê sūn-sū, chiū-sī tāi-seng tio̍h ài sàng phèng-mi̍h khì; nā ū kā siu chiū-sī piáu-bêng beh sêng-lo̍k ê ì-sù. Nā cha-bó͘ gín-ná hit-pêng ê pē-bú m̄ tông-ì ê sî, ta-po͘--ê tio̍h ài koh-khah chīn-la̍t lâi kiû cha-bó͘ gín ná ê pē-bú hoaⁿ-hí. Nā kah chin-chiàⁿ boē hó-sè ê sî, chiū kap hit ê cha-bó͘ gín-ná ê pē-bú hoaⁿ-hí. Nā kah chin-chiàⁿ boē hó-sè ê sî, chiū kap hit ê cha-bó͘ gín-ná chham-siông lâi choè-hé tô-cháu, che sī chīn-thâu ê pō͘. Sui-jiân ū án-ni, Nā ū choè put-chí giâm. Nā ū choè put-cheng-chiat ê, chiū thoa lâi tī chèng-lâng ê bīn-chêng giâm-giâm chek-hoa̍t; m̄-nā án-ni, koh kā i koáⁿ-chhut chng-goā. Sui-jiân hō͘-lâng chhoā-khì liáu, nā koh hō͘ lâng hoat-kiàn tī i boē ha̍p-hun ê í-chêng ū kap lâng choè put-cheng-chiat ê sū, chiū liâm-piⁿ hō͘ lâng lî. In ang-bó͘ lóng pîⁿ-téng. Bó͘ nā choè khah put-kūn chêng-lí ê sū, in pē, hiaⁿ tio̍h ài hō͘ lâng hoat-kim. Ang nā choè put-kūn chêng-lí ê sū ia̍h sī án-ni. Ū chit-khoán ê khì-lō͘, só͘-í ang boē sái-tit phah in bó͘, ia̍h boē sái-tit ēng pháiⁿ-chhuì mē in bó͘.
Tī choè-kūn ū chi̍t ê chhiⁿ-hoan sûn-cha, in-uī phah in bó͘ chiah hō͘ lâng hoa̍t-kim, chiong só͘ hoa̍t ê chîⁿ boé chiú kiò lióng-pêng ê chhin-chhek lài choè-hé lim. Hit-ê ì-sù chiū-sī kóng, í-chêng ê put-sī taⁿ pàng hō͘ chuí lâu-khì, í-āu boē-sái-tit koh giân-khí. Nā ū sím-mi̍h lâng koh giân-khí chá ê sī-hui, tio̍h ài hō͘ lâng hoa̍t. Nā khoàⁿ Hô-lân lâng ê kì-lio̍k, chāi tī hit-sî ta-po͘-lâng nā bô kè gō͘-cha̍p hè boē-sái-tit kap in bó͘ siông-siông choè-hé tit. āu-lâi siū-tio̍h Ki-tok-kàu ê kám-hoà, chiah khì-sak hit-khoán ê si̍p-koàn. Ang-bó͘ chiah oē-thang choè-hé tiàm, choè-hé khì hn̂g-ni̍h choè kang. It-poaⁿ ta-po͘-lâng hū-tam ê kang sī khah chho͘-tāng, chhin-chhiūⁿ tî-hông goā-te̍k, phah-la̍h kap khí-chhù, cha-bó͘-lâng ê kang sī sió-khoá ê choh-sit, chú-chia̍h kap soé-saⁿ.

- Thoân-soat, “In ê chó͘-kong pún-toé sī toà tī ‘Pa-pa-chu-ku-oah-ka.’ In-uī kiáⁿ-sun siⁿ-thoàⁿ put-chí choē, tì-kàu tio̍h pun-khui. Kàu-bé kiò choè-hé lâi hia̍p-gī, ia̍h gī-tiāⁿ kóng tio̍h chiong hiah ê chóng-jîn-sò͘ pun choè nn̄g-pêng; chi̍t-pêng toà goân-uī, chi̍t-pêng tio̍h ài choán-ki soá-uī. Chóng-sī chāi tī hit-sî in ê sǹg-siàu ê tì-sek, chiah tan-tan chai in ê siang-chhiú kap siang-kha ê siàu-gia̍h nā-tiāⁿ. Chóng-sī hit tiong-kan chi̍t-pêng ê chí-tō-chiá ū khah kan-kuí. Kìm i ê lâng-sò͘ ê chi̍t-poàⁿ m̄-thang chhut-siaⁿ, tì-kàu láu-si̍t chit-pêng ê lâng-sò͘ hō͘ ke khiú chin-choē kè-khì. Chóng-sī chit ê kan-chà kè-bô͘ āu-lâi ū lō͘-hiān; láu-si̍t chit-pêng ū koh khì kā i thó lâng, chóng-sī kan-kuí chit-pêng lóng m̄ hêng i. Kan-sia̍p put-chí kú, kan-kuí chit-pêng ū ìn kóng, chiong-lâi nā ū put-sī ê só͘-chāi,hō͘ lín thâi-thâu goán bô ke kóng oē, chiong che choè tiâu-kiāⁿ lâi kái-koat chit-ê būn-tê.” Chóng-sī chit-ê thoân-soat kàu sím-mi̍h só͘-chāi oē sìn-tit, khiok sī chīn oh-tit kóng.

4.「iàu一項較會通確實證明in 的祖公是對南方的海外徙入的,就是現時佇宜蘭地方的 奇萊平野的奇習慣。這所在的生番因為欲紀念in祖公是對海外徙來蹛這个台灣島的,有保存兩隻的獨木船。一隻是欲àu欲àu,所以才閣做一隻新的來補。兩隻攏囥佇海墘的草厝內。In每年有一擺的儀式,將這兩隻的船扛落海,人才peh khit去坐,才kò對南爿的外海,亦才kò入來,大聲喝,亦才將這兩隻閣扛入草厝去囥。親像按呢in大家teh紀念in 的祖公對;南爿來。」
5.「亦有講in 的祖公拄好出去teh討魚的時,拄著大風亦閣予海流直直流來到台灣。以外猶有真濟款。親像頂面所寫遐的例,就通知in祖公的來台灣有的是tiâu故意,有的是無意思來的。」
免講in代先來台灣的時是踮佇海邊的平野。總是對經過日深,月久,in 的人數加添,閣再漂流者來佮in做伙踮。毋但按呢,in 的習慣閣是將討掠做本業,所以日日感覺著生活的艱苦。對按呢in才漸漸徙入去山內,較有鳥獸teh蹛的所在,有真濟人的 說teh講,in 的搬入去山內踮的理由,是予後來侵入台灣來踮的民族共趕的所致。總是這款的說是毋著;因為頂面所寫的理由,抑是in 的口碑佮傳說亦毋是按呢。閣再咱若來調查荷蘭人的記錄亦會通淡薄知;佇in 的記錄有寫講,in袂入台灣的以前,已經有人踮佇山內táu-toé lah。論到生存競爭的失敗者,實在毋是生番,顛倒是歸化的熟番。彼个siāng第一明的例,就是「Sai-se-to」族。In téng-pang捌歸化做熟番,總是因為in 的生活真單純,致到佮「漢民族」袂通競爭得;所以才閣倒轉去in 的原始生活,去學「Tāi-iá族」的習慣風俗,做「Tāi-iá族」的一部分。
In 的社會組織就是siāng一个血族的人作伙來做一个鄉庄;卻有時亦有幾若的血族來聚集作伙的亦毋是無。這个鄉庄的人數照最近的調查有150人到700人的中間。總是咱若來調查荷蘭人來管台灣的歷史,就知彼時「Sin-kang」的人數有3000以上。對按呢咱通推想佇in極盛的時代的確猶有閣較濟人。無論啥物鄉庄攏有一個頭人。In 的頭人有絕對的權利。頭人閣落來亦有長老,少年人著愛聽in。In teh揀頭人一般是用武勇來做,干焦一條的條件,總是親像「Pai-oân族」亦有世襲的。In 的常屬是用長子,所以才有查某頭人。
Taⁿ將「Ia-mi族」的社會組織來講淡薄。這族的社會組織有分四款,是用in 的年歲來分--ê。就是幼年組,青年組,中年組佮老年組;各組攏有伊的組長。老年組的組長就是頭人。凡若有啥物重大事件攏是這个老年組teh解決。其中有一項真心適的社會制度,就是「Pai-oân族」的大社的制度。現時猶會通知古早in 的尚武tek 的教育。彼个教育法,全然佮西洋的 Su-pah-Iu-ta 的教育法相siāng。In 的教育法,就是ta-po͘囡仔若到十二三歲著愛離開父母,去蹛佇幼年合宿所,叫做「Ta-ko-ban」的所在。三,四年久踮佇彼合宿所做伙生活到十六七歲,就徙去青年合宿所,叫做「Ba-li-sun」的所在踮。佇這合宿所鍛鍊三年久,才會通變做壯年。一下入去這个青年合宿所,無論長老啥物命令攏著聽。佇這中間養成尚武的德行,謙遜的德行佮忍耐的德行。佇這三年久嚴禁食熏,食酒,穿媠衫,跳舞佮女性講話。
In 的結婚問題嶄然自由,嶄然有尊重男女的意見。免講亦著愛兩爿的父母同意。結婚的順序,就是代先著愛送聘物去;若有共收就是表明欲承諾的意思。若查某囡仔彼爿的父母毋同意的時,ta-po͘--ê著愛閣較盡力來求查某囡仔的父母歡喜。若kah真正袂好勢的時,就佮彼个查某囡仔的父母歡喜。若kah真正袂好勢的時,就佮彼个查某囡仔參詳來做伙逃走,這是盡頭的步。雖然有按呢,若有做不止嚴。若有做不貞節的,就拖來佇眾人的面前嚴嚴責罰;毋但按呢,閣共伊趕出庄外。雖然予人chhoā去了,若閣予人發見佇伊袂合婚的以前有佮人做不貞節的事,就連鞭予人離。In翁某攏平等。某若做較不近情理的事,in爸,兄著愛予人罰金。翁若做不近情理的事亦是按呢。有這款的去路,所以翁袂使得拍in某,亦袂使得用歹喙罵in某。
佇最近有一個生番巡查,因為拍in某才予人罰金,將所罰的錢買酒叫兩爿的親戚來做伙啉。彼个意思就是講,以前的不是taⁿ放予水流去,以後袂使得閣言起。若有啥物人閣言起早的是非,著愛予人罰。若看荷蘭人的記錄,在佇彼時ta-po͘人若無過五十歲袂使得佮in某常常做伙得。後來受著基督教的感化,才棄sak彼款的習慣。翁某才會通做伙踮,做伙去園裡做工。一般ta-po͘人負擔的工是較粗重,親像持防外敵,拍獵佮起厝,查某人的工是小可的作穡,煮食佮洗衫。
Taⁿ閣來講起in刣人的由來淡薄。
1. 傳說,「In 的祖公本底是蹛佇「Pa-pa-chu-ku-oah-ka。」因為囝孫生湠不止濟,致到著分開。到尾叫做伙來協議,亦議定講著將遐的總人數分做兩爿;一爿蹛原位,一爿著愛轉機徙位。總是在佇彼時in 的算賬的智識,才單單知in 的雙手佮雙腳的數額nā-tiāⁿ。所以親像hiah濟的人數欲分做兩爿,對in來講實在是真困難的 問題。後來有想出一一項的法度,就是將所有的人數分做兩爿,亦才chhoā去附近兩個山頂,siāng時出聲來喝,才聽彼个聲的大細來分人額的濟少。將雙爿的聲平大做人額平濟的憑據。
總是彼中間一爿的指導者有較奸詭。禁伊的人數的一半毋通出聲,致到老實這爿的人數予加揪真濟過去。總是這个奸詐計謀後來有露現;老實這爿有閣去共伊討人,總是奸詭這爿攏毋還伊。干涉不止久,奸詭這爿有應講,將來若有不是的所在,予恁刣頭阮無加講話,將這做條件來解決這个問題。」總是這个傳說到啥物所在會信得,卻是盡oh得講。
