Lāu-bú khòaⁿ-tio̍h, chin khó-lîn chiū kóng, “Taⁿ hó lah! Ū phah chiū hó lah!”, beh khì ūi ê sî, lāu-pē siū-khì kóng, “Lí tiām-tiām, kó͘ lâng khì chòe kó͘ lâng ê kang”; “chit ê cha-bó͘ gín-ná bô phah to m̄ thiaⁿ-chhùi”, chiū tùi cha-bó͘ gín-ná kóng, “āu pái káⁿ koh khì bô?”. I kúi-nā nî chêng sī chi̍t ê hó-gia̍h lâng, tòa tī tōa koe-chhī; chóng-sī in-ūi i ê bōe bóan-chiok, khì bóe tng-sî teh bē lâng ê tu-kǹg iā sit-pāi. Chit ê lāu-pē chiū-sī chi̍t khóan ê sèng-chit, chin khòai siū-khì, put-kóan sím-mi̍h tāi-chì, nā siūⁿ án-ni chiū kiâⁿ án-ni. Bô lōa kú tùi thang-á ū thiaⁿ tio̍h lāu-pē teh khùn ê siaⁿ, kohⁿ-kohⁿ-kiò. Chóng-sī tī chàu-khang kháu Chúi-liân kan-ta lâu-ba̍k sái teh khòaⁿ pìⁿ chòe hé-hu ê jī-bú kap si. Lāu-bú an-ùi i chhōa i khì bîn-chhn̂g. Chóng-sī Chúi-liân tó teh lóng bōe khùn-tit. M̄-kú teh siū-khì i ê lāu-pē kā i sio khì, kan-ta hôan-ló m̄-nā tùi sian-siⁿ bōe tit kè, iā siūⁿ kóng tùi Siōng-tè bōe tit kè ê khóan, in-ūi i mn̄g lāu-bú kóng m̄ chai Iâ-so͘ ōe sià-bián i á-bōe? Ha̍k-hāu ê hioh-jo̍ah chhun bô kúi-ji̍t ê sî, chit ê tōe-hng iā ū teh phó͘-tō͘. Chèng-ti̍t hiaⁿ ēng chin chōe chîⁿ; chi̍t toh pān kàu chin chheⁿ-chhau. I ê hoaⁿ-hí m̄-sī sió-khóa. Chúi-liân the̍h hit pún kā sian-siⁿ chioh ê, khì hêng, iā sòa kóng àn-chóaⁿ khiām kúi-nā ge̍h ji̍t chiah ū tit-tio̍h chi̍t pún si. Ū chi̍t ji̍t sian-siⁿ kiò i tio̍h chio i ê lāu-bú lâi thiaⁿ. Chúi-liân ìn kóng āu lé-pài chiah chio khòaⁿ leh, chiū lī-khui sian-siⁿ. Iáu-bē kàu chhù hn̄g-hn̄g chiū ū khòaⁿ-kìⁿ lāu-bú khiā tī mn̂g-nih teh tán, chiū hoaⁿ-hí kín cháu-khì, I ê lāu-bú tùi khòaⁿ Iú-ûi sian-siⁿ ōe hiah chhin-chhiat, chiū chin chàn-sêng Ki-tok-kàu, iā chin ài khì thiaⁿ tō-lí. Chóng-sī i bô chhin-chhiūⁿ cha-bó͘ kiáⁿ hiah hó-táⁿ, kiaⁿ tiōng-hu cheh-pī. Chúi-liân cháu óa chiū kóng “Sian-siⁿ kiò góa āu lé-pài tio̍h chio lí khì chòe lé-pài; lâi khì neh. A-pa tio̍h kàu beh àm-á chiah ōe tńg-lâi, lán kàu hit-sî-chūn to ōe tńg-lâi lah, só͘-í m̄-bián kiaⁿ” Lāu-bú tú teh siūⁿ ài khì, koh hō͘ Chúi-liân chio tio̍h chiū ín i hó.

Lé-pài-ji̍t ē-po͘. Bo̍k-su Iûⁿ Hôan-phiau tú-tú teh kóng ‘si’ ê bûn-tôe. Chèng-ti̍t só thiaⁿ-liáu chin kám-kek, chin chù-sîn thiaⁿ. Bo̍k-su kóng, “Lán chit sè-kan ê chhâi-phòaⁿ-koaⁿ tūi kūi tī i ê bīn-chêng ê chōe-jîn kóng. ‘Tēng lí sí chōe’ chōe-jîn kha̍p-thâu kiû kóng, ‘chit-pang sià-bián góa, góa āu-pái m̄-káⁿ koh chòe pháiⁿ lah, góa m̄-káⁿ koh hōan-chōe lah! ‘ chhâi-phòaⁿ-koaⁿ kóng, ‘bô, tī-chia bô sià-bián. Góa m̄-sī teh pān chiong-lâi ê sū, góa sī pān lí kàu chit-tia̍p ê só͘-chòe. Lí in-ūi lí ê chōe tio̍h sí’ chhâi-phòaⁿ-koaⁿ lóng bô iông-sià. Ah! hiaⁿ-tī chí-bē ah! Sí āu ê chhâi-phòaⁿ-koaⁿ koh khah giâm lí chai m̄? Lí nā ū chi̍t-sut-á chōe tio̍h tēng sí-chōe lí chai m̄? Taⁿ siáⁿ lâng káⁿ kóng lín bô chōe? Ah! Nā ū chōe ê lâng tio̍h kín lâi hō͘ Iâ-so͘ taⁿ. Iâ-so͘ beh kiù lín, m̄-thang iân-chhiân! “Bo̍k-su chiū thiah Si̍p-jī-kè ê tō-lí, kóng khòaⁿ Iâ-so͘ àn-chóaⁿ thòe lán sí. The̍h hòng-tōng-chú ê phì-jū, kóng khòaⁿ Siōng-tè lōa-nih ài lán chiah ê hòng-tōng chú tńg-khì. Chiū koh chiap-sòa kóng, “Góa bat tī Siōng-hái khòaⁿ-kìⁿ chi̍t-ê lâng, thâu àⁿ-àⁿ, sim-koaⁿ teh siūⁿ chîⁿ, thoa-chhia ti̍t-ti̍t kiâⁿ. Góa khòaⁿ-kìⁿ chi̍t tiuⁿ tiān-chhia teh lâi chin gûi-hiám, cháu-óa ti̍t-ti̍t hoah kóng, ‘Bó͘-lâng gûi-biám tiān-chhia lâi lah! Chóng-sī hit ê lâng chôan-jiân m̄-thiaⁿ, á-sī bô beh thiaⁿ, tiān-chhia kàu, chiū kā i kauh lo̍h-khì. Kiat-kio̍k sí. Lán chit sè-kan chin-chē chhin-chhiūⁿ chit-khóan sim-koaⁿ ǹg sè-kan; kā-kī nā siūⁿ ū lī-ek, chiū bô kóan ēng sím-mi̍h chhiú-tōaⁿ, tún chîⁿ teh hoaⁿ-hí, ū lâng tiong-kò i, i iā bô beh thiaⁿ. Chit-khóan kàu-bé àn-chóaⁿ? Chit-khóan chiū-sī chhin-chhiūⁿ Lô͘-tek ê bó͘ ǹg sè-kan, kàu-bé Siōng-tè hō͘ i sí”

“Taⁿ góa chiū-sī khiā tī si̍p-jī koe-lō͘, chhin-chhiūⁿ ia̍h-hu gia̍h kî-á teh hoah kóng, ‘bó͘-lâng ah! Tùi hit tiâu lō͘ khì bô poh, chhia teh beh kauh sí lí, tio̍h tùi chia chit tiâu khah sòe tiâu ê, in-ūi chit tiâu sòe tiâu ê, bô chhia thang kauh, chin an-chôan, góa án-ni kia̍h kî-á hoah-lâi hoah-khì, nā ū thiaⁿ góa ê ōe ê lâng tit-tio̍h pêng-an; nā bô chiū tiāⁿ-tio̍h sí. Taⁿ lín m̄-chai ū beh thiaⁿ góa teh kóng chit tiâu chin ê o̍ah-lō͘ á-bô?” Bo̍k-su ê ōe-khì kàu-gia̍h ū la̍t thang kám-hòa chit ê hū-jîn-lâng. Bo̍k-su kóng soah Iú-ûi sian-siⁿ sàng i kàu chhù.

Tiōng-hu khòaⁿ-kìⁿ bó͘ ji̍p lâi chiū mn̄g khòaⁿ hit ê lâi kàu mn̂g-nih hit ê, sī sím-mi̍h lâng. Bó͘ ìn kóng, hit ê sī Chúi-liân ê sian-siⁿ iā chin chhin-chhiat, chím-má sàng i tńg lâi. “Lí sî khì toh-ūi?” “khì thiaⁿ tō-lí” “Sím-mi̍h lâng ún-chún lí khì thiaⁿ hit khóah hoan-ná tō-lí?” I ê iau hō͘ i koh khah ok, kan-ta kóng, “Āu-pái chiah koh khì khòaⁿ leh, khah-kín chhòng chi̍t-ê lâi chia̍h, pak-tó͘ iau ka̍h. Nn̄g ge̍h ji̍t ê tiong-kan Pó-ge̍k ché-á ta̍k lé-pài to ū khì lé-pài, khah chá tńg lâi, m̄-bat hō͘ tiōng-hu hoat-kiàn tio̍h. Chóng-sī ū chi̍t ji̍t tiōng-hu, lâng m̄ tú-hó, hut-jiân-kan tńg lâi kàu chhù khòaⁿ-kìⁿ in bó͘ bô tī teh, chiū giâu-gî i khì chòe lé-pài.

Chiū siū-khì, sûi-sî khì lé-pài tn̂g, kàu hia khòaⁿ-kìⁿ bô lâng tī-teh, chiū koh cháu tńg-lâi, kàu chhù iū koh khòaⁿ bó͘ bô tī-teh, sim-koaⁿ pho̍k-pho̍k chhêng, thâu-khak chòe chi̍t ē hîn khí-lâi, siū-khì chha-put-to tòng bōe tiâu. Iu-ūi i siūⁿ kóng káⁿ-sī tī hit-khian sian-siⁿ in tau, i chiū koh chhut khì. Sian-siⁿ khòaⁿ-kìⁿ i lâi chiū hó lé, “Ah. Chèng-ti̍t hiaⁿ lâi chē, góa tī-teh khui-thiah chit pún Sèng-chheh hō͘ Chèng-ti̍t só thiaⁿ.” Chèng-ti̍t hiaⁿ siū-khì kóng, “Lín ê Sèng-chheh kiám ū kóng ōe tit lōan-lōan kap lâng ê bó͘ chē teh kóng ōe?” Bô beh hō͘ sian-siⁿ piān-kái, tùi i ê bó͘ kóng, “Tńg lâi khì.” Iú-ûi sian-siⁿ siūⁿ kóng nā bô lâi khì kóng hō͘ i liáu-kái, m̄-chai beh án-chóaⁿ khóan-thāi in bó͘, chiū tè āu-bīn khì.

Kàu chhù tiōng-hu tú teh chek-pī “Lí siáⁿ-sū koh khì, góa kiám bô kiò lí m̄-thang khì,” ê sî, Iú-ûi sian-siⁿ ji̍p-lâi. Chèng-ti̍t hiaⁿ khòaⁿ tio̍h sian-siⁿ ji̍p-lâi, chiū chhiáⁿ thun-lún, siūⁿ kóng beh chù-ì, khòaⁿ i ê bó͘ ōe án-chóaⁿ khóan-thāi i. Sian-siⁿ chē-teh chiū kóng, “Chèng-ti̍t hiaⁿ lí káⁿ chin siū-khì, sī in-ūi lí bô bêng-pe̍k. Ki-tok-kàu sī chin ê chong-kàu, góa chiah chhōa lín lâi ji̍p; Siōng-tè sī chin ê góa chiah ài chhōa lín lâi pài I.” Hit sî Chèng-ti̍t kóng, “Hit khóan hoan-á kàu sī hoan-ná lâi Tâi-ôan beh phiàn lâng--ê, lí ōe hō͘ phiàn-tit nā-sī góa bōe hō͘ phiàn-tit”

“Ah, Chèng-ti̍t hiaⁿ, hit khóan sī m̄-bat jī ê lâng teh kóng ê ōe, ū kúi-nā hāng m̄-tio̍h lí chai bô? Lán teh kóng hoan-ná sī hiān-chāi seng-o̍ah thêng-tō͘ iáu chin kē, bô bûn-bêng, siōng chió mā tio̍h pí lán khah bô hoat-ta̍t ê chiah ōe kiò tit. Taⁿ lán Tâi-ôan lâng hō͘ lâng kiò-chòe thó͘-jîn to beh siū-khì, thài-thó ōe ēng-tit tùi pí lán khah bûn-hòa ê Se-iûⁿ lâng kiò chòe hoan-ná. Lí koh chi̍t hāng m̄-tio̍h, sī siūⁿ kóng Iâ-so͘ kàu su Au-lô-pa chiu ê; chóng-sī m̄-thang bōe kì-tit Iâ-so͘ sī tùi A-se-a chiu chhut-sì--ê. Sī tùi A-se-a thôan kè-khì kàu Au-lô-pa, iā in siūⁿ kóng iàu-kín tio̍h thôan hō͘ tang-iûⁿ, iā in chi̍t pō͘ hūn chiah lâi Tâi-ôan. Só͘-í in sī beh lâ kiù lán m̄-sī beh phiàn lán.” “m̄-kú lán ū ông-iâ, má-chó͘, sîn-bêng. Khóng-chú chiah chē sîn, to pài bōe liáu koh khì pài kàu Siōng-tè!”

“Hó pêng-iú, chin ê sîn kám ū hiah chōe ê nā-sī chin ê chi̍t ê chiū kàu-gia̍h. “Ah, ū iáⁿ góa nā beh chòe Chú ê ha̍k-seng, tio̍h thiaⁿ Iâ-so͘ ê ōe khah iâⁿ tī tiōng-hu. Góa pàng-sak tiōng-hu lâi tòe Chú.” Koat-ì-liáu sim-koaⁿ hoaⁿ-hí beh khí-lâi ê sî, khòaⁿ-kìⁿ Chúi-liân iā kūi tī i ê sin-piⁿ teh kî-tó. Lāu-bú ê sim-koaⁿ koh cha̍t khí-lâi.

Ah! Chit ê kiáⁿ bô pàng-sak kiám bōe ēng tit, ah, góa bōe jím-tit! góa thiàⁿ chit-ê kiáⁿ iâⁿ kè góa ê sìⁿ-miā, góa chi̍t-sî to bōe lī-tit. Ah! 老母看著,真可憐就講:「Taⁿ好lah!有拍就好lah!」,beh去為ê時,老父受氣講:「你恬恬,各人去做各人ê工」;「這个查某囡仔無拍to毋聽 喙」,就對查某囡仔講:「後擺敢koh去無?」。若是查某囡仔無應就koh拍,已經真thiám,查某囡仔孤不衷講:「毋敢lah」老父箠á下teh,就 做伊去市場辦伊ê代誌。

這个老父名叫陳正直,現時搬來佇一個小街市,teh予市場ê會社倩,真gâu趁錢也真gâu開,所以一家無賰錢定定散散。伊幾若年前是一个好額人,tòa佇大街市;總是因為伊ê袂滿足,去買當時teh賣人ê株券也失敗。所以taⁿ著逐日勞苦chiah有thang食。

Kap一个真thang可取ê婦人人,名蔡寶玉,結婚十所年孤單一个查某囡仔名叫水蓮;今年十一歲。對這个囡仔ê穿插逐日真鮮chhioh真次序,總是無 媠,就thang知毋是老母ê貧憚,是老父ê散赤。水蓮真媠真得人疼koh真gâu;學校讀soah若轉來,就幫贊伊ê老母洗衫煮飯。所以予伊ê父母真疼 伊。

Taⁿ,按怎chiah乖ê囡仔會予伊ê老父拍到按呢?就是拍伊去做禮拜。

有一日對學校轉來佇同伴hia thit-thô ê時,無張持觸著石,血流真濟,拄拄彼時有一個主日學ê先生,名叫陳有為,對遐過看見血直直流,就緊拆伊ê手巾包伊ê跤,chhōa伊到家己ê厝,用藥 kā伊糊;就kap伊ê同伴chhōa伊到厝。水蓮kā先生說謝beh入去ê時,先生叫伊若好chiah去伊遐thit-thô。查某囡仔將這个代誌kā 老母講:老母聽了真呵咾先生,也想beh看伊,總是到戶碇已經無看見人。

禮拜日水蓮ê跤好,去先生遐thit-thô,先生順續chhōa伊去禮拜堂看主日學。伊看著主日學ê學生逐ê真活動,歡歡喜喜,伊也想ài入。出禮拜長 問先生看伊會得入袂?先生允伊;也講真濟耶穌來歷予伊聽,水蓮真快kap有為先生熟似,因為先生定定笑gī-gī,真心適、真親切。

對彼霎了後查某囡仔逐禮拜攏有去赴主日學。若有閒就來先生遐學字母:真巧koh真勉強,所以毋上三月日就字母攏看了。有一日水蓮到真暗猶the復習字母ê 時,老父食酒轉來,問伊看teh看啥物。水蓮笑gī-gī,攏袂記得老父有禁伊讀耶穌ê冊,就講「Neh,阿爸這你捌無?」「He kiám毋是紅毛字?你tang時也遐gâu會讀彼款字!」「毋是leh,人這B CH CHH?」「白話字ê字母lah,我頂日kā你討一錢去買ôe,我一張攏會曉讀lah neh。遮嘛一本聖詩真心leh,我讀你聽heh」彼時teh紩衫ê老母也行倚來。水蓮就讀,「上帝創造天kap地。生成萬物逐項會。Kong—-- -,彼時老父聽見講著,上帝就知是耶穌到ê冊,真受氣「你去叼位提這款冊,提來,我提來去燒」就kā查某囝搶字母kap詩,想beh提去hiat落灶孔。 水蓮入去,講。阿爸hit本時毋是我ê,彼本先生ê?總是無采工,老父已經hiat落去lah。

這个老父就是一款ê性質,真快受氣,不管啥物代誌,若想按呢就行按呢。無偌久對窗á有聽著老父teh睏ê聲,kohⁿ-kohⁿ-叫。總是佇灶空口水蓮干 但流目屎teh看變做火灰ê字母kap詩。老母安慰伊chhōa伊去眠床。總是水蓮倒teh攏袂睏得。毋過teh受氣伊ê老父kā伊燒去,干但煩惱毋若對 先生袂得過,也想講對上帝袂得過ê款,因為伊問老母講毋知耶穌會赦免伊á袂?老母講隔日拄拄是禮拜日,chiah beh chhōa伊去先生in兜會毋著。水蓮安心chiah睏。

隔日老母kap查某囝到先生ê厝,就講所拄著ê情形,也講伊真煩惱chím-má無夠額ê錢thang賠伊,也問先生看會且慢幾若日ā袂。這个中間水蓮恬 恬干但流目屎。先生看著,提伊ê手巾起來拭查某囡仔ê目屎,講:「你按怎teh哭,毋是你燒ê,所以毋免驚。就kā伊ê老母講:「正直嫂,作你安心」就去 冊櫥提一本別本聖詩來。彼本若是燒去,遮猶一本提去用。這个中間正直嫂心內想講按怎會chiah親切。伊ê目睭親像teh kā伊說謝ê款。

學校ê歇熱賰無幾日ê時,這个地方也有the普渡。正直兄用真濟錢;一桌辦到真生臊。伊就夯香去來拜好兄弟á保庇。無拜了問看水蓮走tái去,就四界找四 界叫。老父找到房間看見水蓮bih佇遐,就kā khiú出來,「我叫hiah大聲,你按怎tìⁿ無聽見,kūi khah緊去拜」查某囡仔就走去門口,夯香跪teh,就拜講:「疼痛阮ê上帝求你憐憫阮,予阮阿母kap阿爸毋thang拜好兄弟仔,毋thang拜神 明,著緊來拜上帝。求你滅無假ê上帝chiah袂予阮阿爸阿母去拜伊,求你——阮靠主ê名來求心所願」老父毋知伊是teh拜上帝。

老父一禮拜chiah有容允水蓮討一錢。總是這日普渡歡喜囡仔跪teh拜遐久,就家己提五錢予伊。也學校beh開學ê時,koh對老母得著五錢; chiah-ê攏儉起來,雖bóng一禮拜一錢一錢,taⁿ所積ê已經有夠thang買一本掛譜ê詩。伊ê歡喜毋是小可。水蓮提彼本kā先生借ê,去還, 也續講按怎儉幾若月日chiah有得著一本詩。先生聽了真呵咾伊,也知影水蓮愛唱歌,就熱心教伊譜,學ê人骨力,教ê人熱心,所以彼中間ê進步是真緊。

有一日先生叫伊著招伊ê老母來聽。水蓮應講後禮拜chiah招看leh,就離開先生。猶未到厝遠遠就有看見老母徛佇門裡teh等,就歡喜緊走去,伊ê老母 對看有為先生會hiah親切,就真贊成基督教,也真ài去聽道理。總是伊無親像查某囝遐好膽,驚丈夫責備。水蓮走倚就講「先生叫我後禮拜著招你去做禮拜; 來去neh。阿爸著到欲暗á chiah會轉來,咱到彼時陣to會轉來lah,所以毋免驚」老母拄teh想ài去,koh予水蓮招著就允伊好。

禮拜日下晡牧師楊凡標拄拄teh講‘死 ê問題。正直嫂聽了真感激,真注神聽。牧師講:「咱這世間ê裁判官對跪佇伊ê面前ê罪人講。「定你死罪」罪人瞌頭求講:「這班赦免我,我後擺毋敢koh做 歹lah,我毋敢koh犯罪lah!」裁判官講:「無,佇chia無赦免。我毋是teh辦將來ê事,我是辦你到這霎ê所作。你因為你ê罪著死」 裁判官koh khah嚴你知毋?你若有一屑仔罪著定死罪你知毋?Taⁿ啥人敢講恁無罪?Ah!兄弟姊妹ah!死後ê裁判官koh khah嚴你知毋?你若有一屑仔罪著定死罪你知毋?Taⁿ啥人敢講恁無罪?Ah!若有罪ê人著緊來予耶穌擔。耶穌beh救恁,毋thang延遷!「牧師就 拆十字架ê道理,講看耶穌按怎替咱死。提放蕩子ê譬喻,講看上帝偌呢ài咱chiah-ê放蕩子轉去。就koh接續講:「我捌佇上海看見一個人,頭àⁿ- àⁿ,心肝teh想錢,拖車直直行。我看見一張電車teh來真危險,走倚直直hoah講:「某人危險電車來lah!總是彼个人全然毋聽,á是無欲聽,電車 到,就kā伊kauh落去。結局死。咱這世間真濟親像這款心肝ǹg世間;家己若想有利益,就無管用啥物手段,囤錢teh歡喜,有人忠告伊,伊也無欲聽。這 款到尾按怎?這款就是親像蘆竹ê某ǹg世間,到尾上帝予伊死」

「Taⁿ我就是徛佇十字街路,親像驛夫夯旗仔teh喝講:「某人ah!對彼條路去無埠,車teh欲kauh死你,著對遮這條khah細條ê,因為這條細條 ê,無車thang kauh,真安全,我按呢舉旗仔喝來喝去,若有聽我ê話ê人得著平安;若無就定著死。Taⁿ恁毋知有欲聽我teh講這條真ê活路á無?」牧師ê話氣夠額有 力thang感化這个婦人人。牧師講soah有為先生送伊到厝。

丈夫看見某入來就問看彼个來到門裡彼个,是啥物人。某應講,彼个是水蓮ê先生也真親切,chím-má送伊轉來。「你是去叼位?」「去聽道理」「啥物人允 准你去聽彼款番仔道理?」伊ê餓予伊koh khah惡,干但講:「後擺chiah koh去看leh,khah緊創一個來食,腹肚餓。厝裡ê代誌毋做亂亂kap查甫行」這个中間水蓮連驚伊猶原會予老父罵,就緊去灶跤捾茶出來,「阿爸啉 茶」。

到厝丈夫拄teh責備「你啥事koh去,我kiám無叫你毋thang去,」ê時,有為先生入來。正直兄看著先生入來,就請吞忍,想講beh注意,看伊ê 某會按怎款待伊。先生坐teh就講:「正直兄你敢真受氣,是因為你無明白。基督教是真ê宗教,我chiah chhōa恁來入;上帝是真ê我chiah ài chhōa恁來拜伊。」彼時正直講:「彼款番仔教是番仔來台灣欲騙人--ê,你會予騙得若是我袂予騙得」

「Ah,正直兄,彼款是毋捌字ê人teh講ê話,有幾若項毋著你知無?咱teh講番仔是現在生活程度猶真低,無文明,上少嘛著比咱khah無發達ê chiah會叫得。Taⁿ咱台灣人予人叫做土人欲受氣,汰討會用得對比咱khah文化ê西洋人叫做番仔。你koh一項毋著,是想講耶穌教輸歐羅巴洲ê;總 是毋thang 袂記得耶穌是對亞西亞洲出世--ê。是對亞西亞傳過去到歐羅巴,也in想講要緊著傳予東洋,也in一部份chiah來台灣。所以in是beh來救咱毋是 beh騙咱。」「毋過咱有王爺、媽祖、神明。孔子chiah濟神,to拜袂了koh去拜到上帝!」

「Ah,有影我若beh做主ê學生,著聽耶穌ê話khah贏佇丈夫。我放sak丈夫來tòe主。」決意了心肝歡喜beh起來ê時,看見水蓮也歸佇伊ê身邊teh祈禱。老母ê心肝koh cha̍t起來。

Ah!這个囝無放sak kiám袂用得,ah,我袂忍得!我疼這個囝贏過我ê性命,我一時to袂離得。Ah!若會得免我離這个囝!」彼時ná準佇耳孔邊有聲「講:袂,袂用得,你 著放sak你所疼ê囝來tè我。」老母心肝cha̍t,目屎滴落佇囡仔ê頭毛,「阿蓮á我著轉來去阿公遐,你kap我來去到車頭好毋?」「好lah!阿母 你毋thang煩惱,耶穌kap你相kap佇teh。母囝the beh出門ê-時,老父因為伊也真疼這个囡仔,就講:「阿蓮ah你著tòa遮」應講,「人我beh送阿母到車頭。」

暝已經暗,路站遠,兩個到車頭無久暗車連鞭到。老母爬上車,囡仔徛佇車邊兩個相siòng ê時目屎就就,ài講ê話講袂得出來。時間到,水螺tu-tu叫。Ah!真可憐!老母聽著這个聲,心肝ná teh予鑽仔ui, tòa愈久愈艱苦。目屎tè彼个聲直直流出。老母想講chiah暗,風、雨chiah透,beh予查某囝家己一个轉去,毋甘,叫伊續起來kap伊做陣去。 總是查某囡仔拭目屎講:我著chhōa阿爸去聽道理。我毋thang kap你去;我嘛無買車單。車振動兩爿目屎ná流。總是佇無偌遠ê時,水蓮忽然大聲hoah講:阿母ah,毋免煩惱,我chiah來去chhōa你轉來
