Goá tī kū-nî káu goe̍h kan, kap Tâi-tiong Lô͘ An-kun chò-hoé khì Loē-tē, ū keng-koè chē-chē chhut-miâ ê só͘-chāi, kî-tiong ba̍k-chiu só͘ ū khoàⁿ-kìⁿ, sim-lāi bē bián-tit ū kám-tōng. Só͘-í siá kuí-jī lâi ìn chiūⁿ Pò. ǹg-bāng khoàⁿ-liáu thang chò chham-khó ê lō͘-ēng, iā hō͘ lia̍t-uī tām-po̍h chai hit-pêng ê chōng-hóng.
Loē-tē kīn-lâi ê chìn-pō͘, sǹg-sī chin hoat-ta̍t; pí-phēng Chi-ná sī thian-chha tī ian. In-uī cha̍p nî chêng goá ū khì Tiong-kok, kàu chûn--nî koh khì, khoàⁿ ta̍k só͘-chāi lóng chha-put-to, sīm-chì ū po͘-thâu hoán-tńg pìⁿ ná soe-bî. Lūn kàu Loē-tē khiok m̄-sī án-ni, ta̍k-hāng ke chin heng-ōng. Goá cha̍p jī nî chêng khì, kàu chit-pang lóng bē jīn-tit, in-uī chhī-khu kái-chèng, toā-chhù koân-lâu, ke khí chin chē, seng-lí iā ke chin lāu-jia̍t, sī tuì kau-thong ê lī-piān. Hoé-chhia, tiān-chhia, chū-tōng-chhia, lóng ke chin-chē, tiān-pò, tiān-oē moá sì-kè to ū, sió-khoá ê po͘-thâu, iā pìⁿ chin lāu-jia̍t. Kàu-io̍k ê sū iā chin chéng-tùn, bô lūn lâm-lú, sè-sè hàn chiū ji̍p iù-tī-oân, ta̍k lâng lóng ū thang tha̍k-chheh. In siáⁿ-sū ē án-ni? Chiū-sī koaⁿ-hú ū teh chéng-tùn, peh-sìⁿ iā teh chéng-tùn.
Tāi-tián ê sî, goá tī Kiaⁿ-to͘, iā khì khoàⁿ chin-chē chhut-miâ ê só͘-chāi, khah-chē sī kó͘-biō, ū ê chin kú, iā chin toā, sǹg kuí cha̍p tn̄g ê khoah, hit tiong-kan ū toā sin pu̍t, ū ê sī ēng tâng á-sī kim, gîn lâi chù-ê; chi̍t ê pu̍t-kham ta̍t kuí-nā chheng gîn. Hia ê lâng cha̍p hūn iok-lio̍k ū chhit hūn tuì-tiōng pu̍t-kàu. In ē chiah-ni̍h heng-ōng, in-uī hia sī kó͘-chá kiàn-to͘ ê só͘-chāi, jîn-sò͘ chin chē, chāi-chá thó͘-tē khah sio̍k, chē-chē lâng chiong in ê tē, kià-hù chò biō-ni̍h ê lō͘-ēng; āu-lâi tē-kè chiáng-khí chin koân, tuì án-ni lâi tit-tio̍h chin hó-gia̍h, soà siat-li̍p pu̍t-kàu ê ha̍k-hāu. Chóng-sī Ki-tok-kàu iā chin oa̍h-tāng ê khoán-sit, Tāi-tián phok-lám-hoē tiûⁿ ê só͘-chāi, iā ū siat pò͘-kàu-só͘, ta̍k ji̍t chin chē lâng teh ián-soat hō͘ lâng thiaⁿ, i ê keng-huì iā ū tê saⁿ-sì chheng gîn thang khai-ēng. Tông-chì-siā ê ūn-tōng-hoē tiûⁿ, iā ū ián-soat-hoē; khai-hoē-sek ê sî ū chhiáⁿ Tāi-oe siú-siòng kap Eng-kok tāi-sài ián-soat, sǹg sī chin chhut-la̍t teh kó͘-bú.
Lūn-kàu chit pang tāi-tián ê lāu-jia̍t, sǹg-sī tang-poàⁿ-kiû ê kok boē bat ū--ê; chham-pài ê lâng ū jī-cha̍p goā bān, iā ū beh oá nn̄g-chheng ê goā kok lâng lâi chham-koan. Thian-hông Pè-hā chē hōng-lián, bān-bān teh kiâⁿ, sī beh hō͘ bān peh-sìⁿ chiam-gióng i ê chun-iông. Kiaⁿ-to͘ ê peh-sìⁿ hoaⁿ-hí kàu ná chhin-chhiūⁿ hoat kông; che sǹg chū-kó͘ bī-iú ê lāu-jia̍t.
iáu-kú chi̍t chân, goá khoàⁿ sī boē tú-hó, chiū-sī pún-tó khì Tang-kiaⁿ liû-ha̍k ê ha̍k-seng, chho͘ khì ê sî, jîn-tē lióng-so͘, iū-koh sī chho͘ chhut tông[sic.]-bûn ê siàu-liân gín-ná, chē-chē sī put-am sè-bū. Tang-kiaⁿ sǹg-sī tē-it ū ha̍k-būn, iā tē-it bûn-bêng ê só͘-chāi. 內地狀況

我佇舊年九月間,佮台中盧An-kun做伙去內地,有經過濟濟出名的所在,其中目睭所有看見,心內袂免得有感動。所以寫幾字來印上報。向望看了通做參考的路用,也予列位淡薄知彼爿的狀況。
內地近來的進步,算是真發達;比並支那是天差佇淵。因為十年前我有去中國,到前--年閣去,看逐所在攏差不多,甚至有埠頭反轉變那衰微。論到內地卻毋是按呢,逐項加真興旺。我十二年前去,到這幫攏袂認得,因為市區改正,大厝懸樓,加起真濟,生理也加真鬧熱,是對交通的利便。火車,電車,自動車,攏加真濟,電報,電話滿四界都有,小可的埠頭,也變真鬧熱。教育的事也真整頓,無論男女,細細漢就入幼稚園,逐人攏有通讀冊。In啥事會按呢?就是官府有咧整頓,百姓也咧整頓。
大典的時,我佇京都,也去看真濟出名的所在,較濟是古廟,有的真久,也真大,算幾十丈的闊,彼中間有大身佛,有的是用銅抑是金,銀來鑄的;一个佛龕 值幾若千銀。遐的人十份約略有七份對重佛教。In會遮爾興旺,因為遐是古早建都的所在,人數真濟,在早土地較俗,濟濟人將in的地,寄附做廟裡的路用;後來地價長起真懸,對按呢來得著真好額,紲設立佛教的學校。猶原有大學,中學,小學的分別;也有尼姑的學校,算是真興旺,勢力也真大。
總是基督教也真活動的款式,大典博覽會場的所在,也有設佈教所,逐日真濟人咧演說予人聽,伊的經費也有題三四千銀通開用。同志社的運動會場,也有演說會;開會式的時有請大隈首相佮英國大使演說,算是真出力咧鼓舞。
論到這幫大典的鬧熱,算是東半球的國未捌有--的;參拜的人有二十外萬,也有欲倚兩千个外國人來參觀。天皇陛下坐鳳輦,慢慢咧行,是欲予萬百姓瞻仰伊的尊容。京都的百姓歡喜到若親像發狂;這算自古未有的鬧熱。
猶過一層,我看是袂拄好,就是本島去東京留學的學生,初去的時,人地兩疏,又閣是初出洞門的少年囡仔,濟濟是不諳世務。東京算是第一有學問,也第一文明的所在。若是風俗是袂得通齊全好,著愛有一个老練專務來替in鬥營為,也通監督in,培養in的德行,予學生的爸母會交代得,就是每月一个學生加出三兩个銀錢來做請這號牧師的路用;我想所得著是比失落的較濟。若設使到佇遐才失落in的德行,就無彩對細漢咧栽培。
Taⁿ列位有子弟佇遐咧讀冊的,試想看覓咧;設使會得通請一个妥當的牧師,常在蹛遐,替in料理遮的代誌,也予in較袂離開道理,敢毋是加真好,加真利益mah?
