Tâi-oân tuì Ji̍t-pún tè-kok ê pán-tô͘ í-lâi, ū 20 nî kú. Tī chit 20 nî ê tiong-kan, chèng-hú ū chéng-tùn hō͘ tsoē-tsoē hāng chìn-pō͘, ia̍h ū heng-khí kàu-io̍k hō͘ bûn-bêng chiām-chiām hoat-ta̍t. Chin thang kiong-hí. Tsóng-sī ū chi̍t hāng thang khó-sioh ê sū, chiū-sī bûn-bêng ná teh hoat-ta̍t, siā-hoē ê hong-sio̍k ná teh hú-pāi; chhiong-ki, gē-ki ná tsoē, chhù-piⁿ lîn-iū chia̍p-chia̍p thiaⁿ-kìⁿ o̍h-khîm o̍h-khek ê siaⁿ, kiâⁿ pháiⁿ ê lâng ná hián-jiân. Koh tī siā-hoē tiong ji̍t-ji̍t óng-lâi phun-tsáu, tsoan-tsoan sī uī-tio̍h bu̍t-chit-siōng ê táⁿ-sǹg. Lūn kàu cheng-sîn-siōng ê sū, tāi-ke khoàⁿ chò sī bô iàu-kín. Chin-chiàⁿ thang kóng sī tō-tek ná teh hoè-tuī ê sî-tāi. án-ni kap lán thoân-kàu-su put-chí ū toā koan-hē. Lán m̄-thang m̄ tsù-ì, in-uī lán tsoè thoân-kàu-su ū tam-tài kiù siā-hoē ê chek-sêng. Só͘-í khoàⁿ-tio̍h hiān-tāi siā-hoē ê kéng-hóng boē bián-tit hō͘ sim siⁿ-khí hoân-ló khoà-jū. Taⁿ tsóng-sī tio̍h chīn lán ê khuì-la̍t lâi kiâⁿ lán só͘ tio̍h tsoè ê gī-bū. Tī lán ê gī-bū tiong ū nn̄g-hāng iàu-kín lán tio̍h tsù-ì, chiū-sī thoân-kàu kap kau-chè. Hiān-tāi chit khoán ê bô sî-kiâⁿ, in-uī siā-hoē chiām-chiām teh hoat-ta̍t, bê-sìn chiām-chiām teh siau-bô. Chiah-ê chheng-liân-poè í-keng ū tit-tio̍h sin ê kàu-io̍k, sui-jiân iáu-bē sêng-jīn Ki-tok-kàu, iáu-kú lūn bê-sìn ê sū, chha-put-to bô--khì. Só͘-í tuì chit khoán ê lâng thoân-kàu, tio̍h ài ēng lūn-lí-tek, chiū-sī chiong lán Ki-tok-kàu ê chin-lí lâi chhián-bêng hō͘ in thiaⁿ. Nā-sī ū sî ko͘-put-chiong tio̍h ín pa̍t kàu ê kàu-lí lâi saⁿ-pí, tio̍h ēng pí-kàu hoat lâi soat-bêng, m̄-thang ēng phì-siùⁿ hoat. 傳教師

對現代社會的注意。

台灣對日本帝國的版圖以來,有20年久。佇這20年的中間,政府有整頓予濟濟項進步,亦有興起教育予文明漸漸發達。真通恭喜。總是有一項通可惜的事,就是文明ná teh發達,社會的風俗ná teh腐敗;娼妓,藝妓ná濟,厝邊鄰右chia̍p-chia̍p聽見學琴學曲的聲,行歹的人ná顯然。閣佇社會中日日往來奔走,專專是為著物質上的打算。論到精神上的事,大家看做是無要緊。真正通講是道德ná teh廢墜的時代。按呢佮咱傳教師不止有大關係。咱毋通毋注意,因為咱做傳教師有擔帶救社會的責成。所以看著現代社會的景況袂免得予心生起煩惱掛慮。Taⁿ總是著盡咱的氣力來行咱所著做的義務。佇咱的義務中有兩項要緊咱著注意,就是傳教佮交際。咱欲向望社會會得著道理,自然咱著傳道理著合時勢,毋通執古派。現今的傳教佮古早有各樣的所在。古早常常是破除人的迷信,所以袂免得著佮偶像結冤仇。現代這款的無時行,因為社會漸漸teh發達,迷信漸漸teh消無。chiah的青年輩已經有得著新的教育,雖然猶未承認基督教,iáu-kú論迷信的事,差不多無--去。所以對這款的人傳教,著愛用論理tek,就是將咱基督教的真理來闡明予in聽。若是有時姑不將著ín別教的教理來相比,著用比較法來說明,毋通用譬像法。著照「Comparative Religion,」就是比較宗教學的款。按呢人較甘願聽,亦閣再對別的宗教較有禮數。咱毋通想別的宗教的教理攏是毋著無路用。咱著知不論甚物宗教,伊的教理有可取的所在,所以毋通過頭嫌人。譬論別的宗教的人若嫌咱所服事的基督是無影,咱聽了怎樣?穩當真無歡喜。親像四年前佇東京有一個人名叫Hêng-tek Chhiu-suí,著一本冊名叫「基督boa̍t-sat論,」意思是講基督無影,著滅無。彼本冊出版了後,基督教的傳教師無一个無嫌伊。我有聽見一个出名的牧師,伊的名是Hái-ló-bêng Toâⁿ-chèng,開演說會來批評伊。所以咱若嫌別人,別人亦會親像咱按呢。亦閣再現代的社會文明教育漸漸進步。咱傳教師亦著通做說教的路用。捌聽見有人常常teh講,做傳教師毋免著有學問。這款的說算是20世紀以前的說,若是現代的說的確無按呢。佇新約中所記載第一濟,第一明,救人贖罪的道理佮傳教佇第一大片的所在,是第一有學問的使徒。按呢通知傳教師著欠學問,毋是免欠。亦閣一項著注意,就是交際,因為傳教師佇社會中袂免得著佮人交際往來。佇彼个交際中,常常會拄著啉食,宴會,鬧熱等事,要緊著真注意,因為現今的宴會較濟有摻虛華佇teh,就是食酒,喝拳,唱藝旦。若是屬佇這款的確著閃避伊,通保全傳教師的名聲,免拄著予人譭謗,亦家己較袂受迷惑。以上所寫,若屬佇較過頭的所在,請赦免。
