Chêng koàn ê Pò ū kóng lán ê Hàn-jī kap Ji̍t-pún-jī sī bô sím-mi̍h ha̍h chng- siā lâng ê lō͘-ēng, hoán-tńg kàu-hoē-lāi teh ēng ê goā-kok-jī chin-chiàⁿ oē-choè- tit. Kóng-khí liáu, hit phiⁿ lūn ū kú-gī lán tio̍h chiong sian-siⁿ ê khuì-la̍t kap kàu-hoē ê chîⁿ-châi siat chi̍t-ê goā-kok-jī ê Sin-bûn-pò, iā ū chhiáⁿ khoàⁿ Pò ê lia̍t-uī tio̍h bóng lâi chham-siông chit chân sū.* Taⁿ goá ài kóng kuí-kù.

I.Lūn Hàn-jī. (1)Eng-kok lâng iáu choè chhiⁿ-hoan ê sî-chūn, chit-hō jī í- keng ū toā kong-hāu;(2)hiān-kim tī Au-lô-pa kap Tāi-bí chiu ê Toā-o̍h ū chha-put-to saⁿ-cha̍p ê phok-ha̍k sian-siⁿ teh kà Hàn-bûn;(3)Chheng-kok kūn-lâi ê toā-heng khah toā poàⁿ sī chhut tuì peh-sìⁿ chin pó-sioh in pún-toē ê hk8- hāu, tek-khak m̄-sī in-uī goā-kok-jī ū khui-lō͘ lâi khan i. Siat-sú hoē-iú ài piān-pok kóng, Sio̍k Hàn-bûn bô sím-mi̍h lī- piān ê jī-bú, iā jī-tián ū sì-bān-goā bô saⁿ-tâng ê jī;lán tio̍h kì-tit hiān-sî chhut ê chheh chin gâu pâi-lia̍t jī soà koé-bêng ta̍k-hāng, tì-kàu chú-ji̍t-o̍h ê gín-á káng- kiù liáu chiū bô loā-kú oē hiáu tha̍k. Lūn bô tâng ê jī kàu hiah-nih choē, tāi-ke chai nā-sī lâng bat chám-jiân khah chió, thang sǹg i choè tha̍k-chheh lâng.

Lán ia̍h tio̍h siūⁿ che kuí hāng:ū toā chhut-miâ ê sian-siⁿ kan-chèng kóng, 3000 bô tâng ê jī sī kàu-gia̍h thang hoāⁿ kok-ji̍t chhut ê Sin-bûn-pò;Sin-iok choân-su ū 2000 goā bô tâng ê jī nā- tiāⁿ;Tn̂g-soaⁿ ū chin choē hoē-iú, sui-jiân m̄-bat pe̍h-oē-jī, in ê láu-liān kap jia̍t-sim chin-chiàⁿ thang khó-chhú.

*Chêng-goe̍h ê Kàu-hoē-pò khiok bô kóng lán ê Kàu-hoē tio̍h siat chit-hō ê sin-bûn-pò; put-kò sī kóng lán tio̍h chhut-la̍t kà chèng-lâng bat pe̍h-oē-jī; jiân-āu nā ū hó-gia̍h lâng á-sī hoē-siā chhut-thâu lâi ìn chi̍t-ê pe̍h-oē-jī ê sin-bûn-pò, ún-tàng ū chē-chē lâng ài bé.

Lūn pún-kok ê ha̍k-hāu. Ji̍t-pún lâng chin chió m̄-bat jī. Che sī in-uī chiàu kok-hoat in-ê gín-á lóng tio̍h ji̍p sió-o̍h;só͘-í moá-sì-koè ū lâng teh pī- pān kò-pe̍h, sin-bûn-pò, í-ki̍p cha̍p-ha̍k ê chheh, kàu sǹg boē liáu. Nā-sī àn-ni, chī-chuī-á káⁿ kóng. Ji̍t-pún lâng í-keng hián-chhut ê toā châi-tiāu sī in-uī in pàng hiat-ka̍k Hàn-jī kap pún-kok ê Khan-ná, chiah hō͘ goā-kok ê pe̍h-oē-jī chhoā in kàu khah khui-khoah ê só͘-chāi?Koh chi̍t hāng iàu-kín chiū-sī lán eng-kai tio̍h toā-liōng lâi siàu-liām Ji̍t-pún koaⁿ tī Tâi-oân só͘ siat loā-choē hāng ê hó hoat-tō͘. In tek-khak ài Tâi-oân chèng peh-sìⁿ kín bat-jī;m̄-kú sui-bóng bô kà goā-kok pe̍h-oē-jī tī ta̍k-uī ê Kong-ha̍k- hāu, lán m̄-thang phah-sǹg che sī kiâⁿ m̄-tio̍h lō͘, á-sī in ê sim-koaⁿ kò͘-chip m̄- chai-iáⁿ. Chiàu goá teh khoàⁿ, lán m̄-bián hoân-ló in-uī hiān-sî ū chin-choē Tâi-oân lâng o̍h Hàn-bûn kap Kok-gú soà tit- tio̍h hó ki-hoē tī kok-ka ê I-seng-koán, o̍h-tn̂g, Iû-piān-kio̍k, Hé-chhia-kio̍k, Hái-koan, Phài-chhut-só͘, chiah-ê. Goān tāi-ke hióng-siū chú ê toā-un, hō͘ lán gâu thé-thiap ta̍k téng-hō ê lâng, ài in ê lêng-hûn kap sin-thé tit-tio̍h khoàⁿ-oa̍h pêng-an!

Lūn pe̍h-oē-jī. Teh kú-chiàn pe̍h-oē-jī ê tiong-kan, gō͘-ge̍h ê Pò ū chí Eng-bûn choè iūⁿ, chóng-sī lán nā sió-khoá chhâ chiū chai hit nn̄g ê Hoan- bûn sī put-chí bô tâng. It:Eng-bûn lóng m̄-bián chiong sím-mi̍h goā-kok thêng pit ê hō, hoán-tńg Tiong-kok lâng ê Hoan-bûn, siá-jī liáu, tio̍h lo̍h pat-im, phīⁿ-im kap kî-û ê hō, tì-kàu choē-choē lâng hiâm huì-khì, iā só͘ kì-ê bô thang hó khoàⁿ. Phì-jū lâi kóng, lâng thàn Eng-bûn hoat, nā-sái lo̍h pit chiū choè Chi̍t-ē oē siá miâ chhin-chhiūⁿ chiah-ê:-Jerusalem,Mesopotamia;Ē-mn̂g-im tio̍h án-ni lâi kì:-Iâ-lō͘-sat-láng;Bí- só͘-pho-tāi-bí. Khoàⁿ Kńg-tang, Tiô- chiu, á-sī Hok-chiu, ê pe̍h-oē-jī, goá tī- chia só͘ kóng chiū oē bêng, in-uī in-ê jī- hō pí Ē-mn̂g-ê ū khah choē.

Jī:Sui-jiân Eng-kok ê thó͘-im ū choē-choē khiuⁿ- kháu, peh-sìⁿ ê sin-bûn-pò, ta̍k téng-hō ê chheh kap phoe-sìn ū pâi-lia̍t jī-bú ê jī chiàu tiāⁿ-tio̍h ê kui-kú. chāi Chheng-kok bîn ê tiong-kan m̄-sī án-ni;in-uī in-ê goā-kok pe̍h-oē-jī put-tek-í tio̍h tè ta̍k só͘-chāi ê thó͘-im;só͘-í bô chi̍t-khoán sī-oē kham-tit choè thong-hêng ê lō͘-ēng chhin-chhiūⁿ Hàn-jī. Goá án-ni kì sī in-uī bó͘ lâng chiong Hàn-jī, Hô-bûn, kap pe̍h-oē-jī saⁿ-pí, só͘-í chhiáⁿ khoàⁿ Pò ê lia̍t-uī m̄-thang chhò.

Lūn-khí lán tio̍h àn-cháiⁿ-iūⁿ hō͘ Tâi-oân lâng khah bat jī, goá chit-tia̍p ū êng thang siá nn̄g kù nā-tiāⁿ.

Beh kó͘-bú pe̍h-oē-jī, phah-sǹg tāi-ke hia̍p-le̍k thàn chi̍t ê tiāⁿ-tio̍h ê Chèng-jī-hoat oē-choè-tit, iā sī chin hó. Chiàu hiān-sî ê khoán, Sèng-keng í- goā, pa̍t-hō ê chheh hán-tit ēng jī-bó ê ch--jī;hoē-iú iā siông-siông bat tú-tio̍h chiah-ê só͘ ìn ê jī-kù:-huih kap hoeh, choē-choē kap chē-chē, ka-kī kap ka-tī, gûn kap gîn, chí-bē kap chí-moāi, peh- sìⁿ kap peh-sèⁿ, àn-cháiⁿ-iūⁿ kap àn- choáⁿ-iūⁿ, chān kap chān. Taⁿ nā-sī lán sin-chhut ê Sèng-keng sī chin ha̍h choè thong Tâi-oân hoē-iú ê lō͘-ēng, mih-sái ū chit-hō ê piàn-oāⁿ? Beh hō͘ chèng hoē-iú ê sim siū bián-lē, kiám m̄-tio̍h chiong Kàu-hoē- pò ê chi̍t poàⁿ ìn Hàn-bûn kap Hô-bûn, chi̍t poàⁿ ìn pe̍h-oē-jī?Kàu chit sî, chháu-tē ê hiaⁿ-tī ū Kàu-hoē-pò, Tāi- hoē ê Liân-lio̍k, chú-ji̍t-sîn-liông, í-ki̍p loā choē pa̍t-hō ê chheh thang choè in-ê lō͘-ēng.

Lūn liāu-lí ha̍k-hāu, chit chân sū, lán ê sim tio̍h khui-khoah, gâu thé- thiap ta̍k téng-hō ê lâng;chhin-chhiūⁿ Tâi-lâm siâⁿ-lāi chit-tia̍p ū 300 goā sio̍k Kàu-hoē ê ha̍k-seng tī-teh;ū siàu-liân ê hoā-iú ná choē khì Ji̍t-pún tha̍k- chheh, iā ū lán thoân-tō ê sian-siⁿ ta̍uh- ta̍uh teh hoân-ló in ê chhián ha̍k. 論白話字。

(甘為霖記--ê。)

前卷ê報有講咱ê漢字kap日本字是無甚mih合庄社人ê路用,反轉教會內teh用ê外國字真正會做tit。講起了,hit篇論有舉議咱著將先生ê氣力kap教會ê錢財設一個外國字ê新聞報,也有請看報ê列位著罔來參詳這層事。*今我ài講幾句。

I.論漢字。(1)英國人iáu做生番ê時陣,這號字已經有大功效;(2)現今tī歐羅巴kap大美洲ê大學有差不多30個博學先生teh教漢文;(3)清國近來ê大興較大半是出tuì百姓真保惜in本地ê學校,的確m̄是因為外國字有開路來牽伊。設使會友ài辯駁講,屬漢文無甚mih利便ê字母,也字典有四萬外無相同ê字;咱著記得現時出ê冊真gâu排列字續解明逐項,致到主日學ê囡仔講究了就無偌久會曉讀。論無同ê字到hiah-ni̍h濟,大家知若是人bat chám然較少,thang算伊做讀冊人。

咱亦著想這幾項:有大出名ê先生干證講,3,000無同ê字是夠額thang hoāⁿ各日出ê新聞報;新約全書有2,000外無同ê字nā-tiāⁿ;唐山有真濟會友,雖然m̄-bat白話字,in ê老練kap熱心真正thang可取。

*前月ê教會報卻無講咱ê教會著設chit號ê新聞報;不過是講咱著出力教眾人捌白話字;然後若有好額人á是會社出頭來印1个白話字ê新聞報,穩當有濟濟人愛買。

論本國ê學校。日本人真少m̄-bat字。這是因為照國法in-ê囡仔攏入小學;所以滿四界有人teh備辦告白、新聞報以及雜學ê冊,到算boē了。若是àn-ni,是誰仔敢講。日本人已經顯出ê大才調是因為in放hiat-ka̍k漢字kap本國ê假名,才hō͘外國ê白話字chhoā in到較開闊ê所在?Koh一項要緊就是咱應該著大量來數念日本官tī台灣所設loā濟項ê好法度。In的確ài台灣眾百姓緊bat字;m̄-kú雖罔無教外國白話字tī逐位ê公學校,咱m̄-thang 扑算這是行m̄著路,抑是in ê心肝固執m̄知影。照我teh看,咱m̄免煩惱因為現時有真濟台灣人學漢文kap國語續得著好機會tī國家ê醫生館、學堂、郵便局、火車局、海關、派出所,chiah-ê。願大家享受主ê大恩,hō͘咱gâu體貼逐等號ê人,ài inê靈魂kap身體得著快活平安!

論白話字。Teh舉薦白話字ê中間,五月ê報有指英文做樣,總是咱若小可查就知hit兩個番文是不止無同。(一)英文攏m̄免將甚mih外國停筆ê號,反轉中國人ê番文,寫字了,著落八音,鼻音kap其餘ê號,致到濟濟人嫌費氣,也所記ê無thang好看。譬如來講,人thàn英文法,nā-sái 落筆就做一下會寫名親像chiah-ê:Jerusalem, Mesopotamia;廈門音著án-ni來記:耶路撒冷、米所波大米。看廣東、潮州,抑是福州ê白話字,我tī-chia所講就會明,因為in-ê字號比廈門ê有較濟。

(二)雖然英國ê土音有濟濟腔口,百姓ê新聞報,逐等號ê冊kap 批信有排列字母ê字照定著ê規矩。在清國民ê中間m̄是án-ni;因為in-ê外國白話字不得已著tè逐所在ê土音;所以無一款是會堪tit做通行ê路用,親像漢字。我án-ni記是因為某人將漢字、和文kap白話字相比,所以請看報ê列位m̄-thang錯。

論起咱著àn怎樣hō͘台灣人較bat字,我這tia̍p有閒thang寫兩句nā-tiāⁿ。

Beh鼓舞白話字,扑算大家協力趁一個定著ê正字法會做得,也是真好。照現時ê款,聖經以外,別號ê冊罕tit用字母ê ch--字;會友也常常bat tú著chiah-ê所印ê字句:huih kap hoeh,choē-choē kap chē-chē,ka-kī kap ka-tī,gûn kap gîn,chí-bē kap chí-moāi,peh-sìⁿ kap peh-sèⁿ,àn-cháiⁿ-iūⁿ kap àn-choáⁿ-iūⁿ,chān kap chān。今若是咱新出ê聖經是真合做通台灣會友ê路用,mih-sái有這號ê變換?Beh hō͘眾會友ê心受勉勵,kiám m̄著將教會報ê一半印漢文kap和文,一半印白話字?到這時,草地ê兄弟有教會報,大會ê連絡、主日神糧以及偌濟別號ê冊thang做in-ê路用。

論料理學校,這層事,咱ê心著開闊,gâu體貼逐等號ê人;親像台南城內這tia̍p有300外屬教會ê學生tī-teh;有少年ê會友那濟去日本讀冊,也有咱傳道ê先生ta̍uh-ta̍uh teh煩惱in ê淺學。好朋友--ah!的確著叫醒。M-thang 趁甚mih浮萍續 hō͘教會外ê學校來贏咱。
