Taⁿ lán siūⁿ chi̍t-hāng, cháiⁿ-iūⁿ lâng tī Chú ê bīn-chêng ē chò toā? In-uī lán tī I-ê bīn-chêng chin sió-khoá, chhin-chhiūⁿ káu-hiā chi̍t-iūⁿ. “I khoàⁿ chèng-kok ê peh-sìⁿ chhin-chhiūⁿ chi̍t-tiám-á ê chuí sia̍p tī khì-khū ê goā-bīn, chhin-chhiūⁿ chi̍t-tiám-á ê thô͘-hún tiâu tī thian-pêng-oáⁿ.” (I-sài-a 40: 15.) Siàu-liân ê sî i khiok bô sím-mi̍h miâ-siaⁿ; Sèng-chheh kan-ta kóng i khiā-khí tī khòng-iá kàu hián-bêng tī I-sek-liat peh-sìⁿ ê ji̍t. Jiân-āu chhut-lâi thoân tō-lí, chiàu lâng khoàⁿ iā bô sím-mi̍h miâ-siaⁿ. Chia̍h chhēng lóng chho͘-sio̍k; chhēng lo̍k-tô-mn̂g, hâ phoê-toà, chia̍h chháu-meh kap iá-bi̍t. Kàu sí ê sî iā bô siān-chiong, bô hō͘ chē-chē lâng kā i sàng-chòng; sī hō͘ kok-ông koaiⁿ-kaⁿ chha-put-to chi̍t nî kú, chiàⁿ hō͘ i àm-chīⁿ thâi-thâu, kan-ta beh hō͘ chi̍t-ê pháiⁿ cha-bó͘-lâng hoaⁿ-hí. Chi̍t-hāng sī in-uī i thàn Siōng-tè ê bēng-lēng, chīn i-ê pún-hūn chek-pī lâng ê pháiⁿ, kiò in hoán-hoé ké-pìⁿ. Put-lūn sím-mi̍h lâng chiū-kīn i i lóng bô kā i pho͘-pâi kóng hó-oē, sī ti̍t-ti̍t kóng-khí ta̍k-lâng ê pháiⁿ, hō͘ in chai-choē, thang ké-pìⁿ. Hoat-lī-sài lâng í-ki̍p chiah-ê sian-siⁿ lâi chhoē i, i bô pī-pān oán-choán hó-thiaⁿ ê oē, kan-ta kā in kóng, To̍k-choâ ê luī ah! Chī-chuī-á chí-sī lín? Hi-lu̍t ông kiâⁿ-pháiⁿ, Iok-hān hó-táⁿ kàn-chèng i, tì-kàu hō͘ ông lia̍h-khì koaiⁿ-kaⁿ. I lóng bô kiaⁿ lâng ê só͘-chò, put-kò tī Siōng-tè ê bīn-chêng chīn i-ê pún-hūn. Chit-hō ê lâng thang chheng chò toā.
iū-koh chi̍t-hāng, i pún-sin chin sè-jī chin chheng-khì; po̍h kap kāu ê chiú lóng bô chia̍h. Sèng-chheh khiok bô kìm lâng lóng m̄-thang chia̍h-chiú; m̄-kú Iok-hān kam-goān khek-kí, ài tî-hông, bián-tit hō͘ lâng hiâm i cháiⁿ-iūⁿ. In-uī beh chek-pī pa̍t-lâng ê pháiⁿ, i pún-sin tio̍h put-chí chheng-khì-siùⁿ, lâng chiah khah kam-goān hâng-ho̍k i-ê kà-sī. Lâng kam-goān khek-kí in-uī beh chīn i-ê chit-hūn, lī-ek pa̍t-lâng, chiàⁿ tī Chú ê bīn-chêng sǹg chò toā.
iū-koh chi̍t-hāng, Iok-hān chin gâu ho̍k-sāi Ki-tok. I kiò lâng tio̍h khoàⁿ Iâ-so͘; i-ê ha̍k-seng lī-khui i khì chò Iâ-so͘ ê ha̍k-seng, i chin hoaⁿ-hí lóng bô hiâm in. Chiàu I ka-tī kóng, Iâ-so͘ tio̍h heng-ōng i tio̍h soe-bî. Lâng in-uī Iâ-so͘ hō͘ lâng khoàⁿ-khin, bô kiû ka-tī ê miâ-siaⁿ, lóng sī ài lâng tio̍h o-ló Iâ-so͘, chit hō lâng tī Chú ê bīn-chêng chò-toā.
Lán kàu-hoē lâi tng-chit ê lâng tio̍h o̍h Iok-hān. Chi̍t-hāng sī tio̍h chīn-tiong chek-pī hiaⁿ-tī ê pháiⁿ, kiò in hoán-hoé ké-pìⁿ; m̄-thang pàng in kù-chāi in kiâⁿ-chhò, iā m̄-thang kiaⁿ i siū-khì, soà m̄-káⁿ kóng. Chóng-sī lán iā tio̍h chhin-chhiūⁿ Iok-hān pún-sin chin kéng-séng sè-jī chheng-khì-siùⁿ; put-lūn lim-chiú á-sī sím-mi̍h pa̍t-mi̍h tio̍h khek-kí tî-hông, ǹg-bāng lán nā chek-pī hiaⁿ-tī in chiū khah kam-goān hâng-ho̍k. Lán ka-tī kiâⁿ sím-mi̍h chhò, nā beh soà chek-pī pa̍t-lâng chū-jiân khah-oh iā khah bô kong-hāu. Bo̍k-su ū-sî khì chek-pī hiaⁿ-tī sím-mi̍h m̄-tio̍h, in ìn kóng tiúⁿ-ló mā sī án-ni chò, si̍t-chāi chin oh khó͘-khǹg. iā m̄-thang bē kì--tit, put-lūn só͘-chò lóng tio̍h kui êng-kng Iâ-so͘ lâi chò, ǹg-bāng khah-chē lâng chò i-ê ha̍k-seng, lâi o-ló i chì-sèng ê miâ.
Lán tāi-ke nā án-ni kiâⁿ, Siōng-tè tek-khak chai, beh chiap-la̍p lán. Ia sui-jiân lâng ê khoàⁿ-khin lán, khoàⁿ lán m̄-sī miâ-siaⁿ ê lâng, iā ē khoàⁿ-khin lán ê Tāi-hoē, m̄-kú lán tī Chú ê bīn-chêng ē chò-toā: si̍t-chāi sī khah iàu-kín.

行洗禮約翰猶未出世的代先,有一個天使出現對伊的老爸撒迦利亞講,你的 某伊莉莎白欲生囝,佇主的面前伊會做大,薄佮厚的酒攏無食。
Taⁿ咱想一項,怎樣人佇主的面前會做大?因為咱佇伊的面前真小可,親像狗蟻一樣。「伊看眾國的百姓親像一點仔的水sia̍p佇器具的外面,親像一點仔的塗粉tiâu佇天秤碗。」(以賽亞40:15。)怎樣一人通稱做大?因為啥事約翰稱做大?
少年的時伊卻無啥物名聲;聖冊干焦講伊徛起佇曠野到顯明佇以色列百姓的日。然後出來傳道理,照人看也無啥物名聲。食穿攏粗俗;穿駱駝毛,hâ皮帶,食草蜢佮野蜜。到死的時也無善終,無予濟濟人共伊送葬;是予國王關監差不多一年久,chiàⁿ予伊暗靜刣頭,干焦欲予一个歹查某人歡喜。怎樣通講伊佇主的面前做大?
一項是因為伊趁上帝的命令,盡伊的本份責備人的歹,叫in反悔改變。不論啥物人就近伊伊攏無共伊鋪排講好話,是直直講起逐人的歹,予in知罪,通改變。法利賽人以及chiah 的先生來揣伊,伊無備辦婉轉好聽的話,干焦共in講,毒蛇的類ah!Chī-chuī-á指示恁?希律王行歹,約翰好膽諫諍伊,致到予王掠去關監。伊攏無驚人的所做,不過佇上帝的面前盡伊的本份。這號的人通稱做大。
又閣一項,伊本身真細膩真清氣;薄佮厚的酒攏無食。聖冊卻無禁人攏毋通食酒;毋kú約翰甘願克己,愛持防,免得予人嫌伊怎樣。因為欲責備別人的歹,伊本身著不止清氣相,人才較甘願降服伊的教示。人甘願克己因為欲盡伊的職份,利益別人,chiàⁿ佇主的面前算做大。
又閣一項,約翰真gâu服事基督。伊叫人著看耶穌;伊的學生離開伊去做耶穌的學生,伊真歡喜攏無嫌in。照伊家己講,耶穌著興旺伊著衰微。人因為耶穌予人看輕,無求家己的名聲,攏是愛人著呵咾耶穌,這號人佇主的面前做大。
咱教會來當職的人著學約翰。一項是著盡忠責備兄弟的歹,叫in反悔改變;毋通放in據在in行錯,也毋通驚伊受氣,紲毋敢講。總是咱也著親像約翰本身真警醒細膩清氣相;不論啉酒抑是啥物別物著克己持防,向望咱若責備兄弟in就較甘願降服。咱家己行啥物剉,若欲紲責備別人自然較僫也較無功效。牧師有時去責備兄弟啥物毋著,in應講長老嘛是按呢做,實在真僫苦勸。也毋通袂記得,不論所做攏著歸榮光耶穌來做,向望較濟人做伊的學生,來呵咾伊至聖的名。
咱大家若按呢行,上帝的確知,欲接納咱。也雖然人的看輕咱,看咱毋是名聲的人,也會看輕咱的大會,毋kú咱佇主的面前會做大:實在是較要緊。
