Koh káng-kiù Sin-cheng Ji̍t-kì-kò͘-sū ê chheh; sī kóng chhù-piⁿ ū chi̍t ê hū-jîn-lâng, ēng chǹg-á lâi ui Teng-lân in bú ê chhâ-siōng. án-ni kap kū ê chheh toā bô saⁿ-tâng, pîⁿ-pîⁿ sī Ji̍t-kì-kò͘-sū, put-kò cheng-chha sin kū nā-tiāⁿ; taⁿ chiū hí nn̄g pún só͘ kóng--ê, ia̍h sī ka-kī kan-chèng bô-iáⁿ, in-uī ka-kī saⁿ mâu-tún, sin-kū só͘ kì-chài--ê, boē siong-hû. Chiok-kiàn m̄-thang suî-ì sìn bô hē-lo̍h ê cha̍p-chheh; chhin-chhiūⁿ Bēng-chú kóng, “Chīn-sìn-su, chek-put-jû bû su.” Chiok-kiàn lâng só͘ choè ê chheh, m̄-thang bô chim-chiok siūⁿ chiū khì sìn--i.

Koh lūn chiàu lâng ê liû-thoân só͘ kóng--ê, ia̍h sī bô iáⁿ, iáu-kú kóng-liáu khah ū oá-lí; goá koh kóng hō͘-lín thiaⁿ. Liû-thoân chiū-sī kóng, Teng-lân pún tāi put-hàu, siông-siông phah i-ê lāu-bú; ū chi̍t ji̍t Teng-lân tī soaⁿ-téng chhī iûⁿ, khoàⁿ-kìⁿ chhiū-téng o͘-a-bú kā thâng chhī kiáⁿ, cha̍p-hun kan-khó͘; chiah siūⁿ kàu i soè-hàn ê sî, i-ê lāu-bú ia̍h tek-khak chhin-chhiūⁿ án-ni lâi chhī--i. Teh siūⁿ ê sî, oa̍t-thâu koh khoàⁿ-kìⁿ tú-á siⁿ-chhut--lâi ê iûⁿ-á kiáⁿ, siang kha choê-choê kuī-lo̍h tī i iûⁿ-bú ê leng-piⁿ teh chia̍h-leng, sim siū kám-kek, chiū ka-kī siūⁿ kóng, Iûⁿ-kiáⁿ chhut-sì chiū hiáu-tit kuī i-ê bú, o͘-a-kiáⁿ khoàⁿ-kìⁿ i-ê bú kàu, chiū oē hiáu-tit hoaⁿ-hí khui-chhuì lâi chhiò, kia̍h-thâu chhut-siaⁿ lâi kiâⁿ-lé; uī-hô goá bē-bat chi̍t pái kuī goá ê lāu-bú, ia̍h bē-bat chi̍t pái chhiò-iông kap goá ê lāu-bú kiâⁿ-lé; hoán-tńg kha̍p-tio̍h chiū siū-khì, ài phah chiū phah, ài mē chiū mē. Chi̍t-sî thian-liông hoat-hiān, khui-siaⁿ ai-siong thî-khàu, ka-kī oàn-hūn kóng, Goá cháiⁿ-iūⁿ oē khah-su tī khîm-siù? Tú-tú teh ai-siong thî-khàu ê sî, hn̄g-hn̄g khoàⁿ-kìⁿ i ê lāu-bú koāⁿ pn̄g beh lâi hō͘ i chia̍h, chiū toā-pō͘ cháu beh khì kā i chih, ì-sù ài-beh hêng-hàu, m̄-káⁿ siū i ê lāu-bú ê sàng-pn̄g. Nā-sī i ê bú khoàⁿ-kìⁿ Teng-lân toā-pō͘ cháu--lâi, ka-kī siūⁿ tek-khak sī Teng-lân siū-khì i koāⁿ pn̄g bān lâi beh phah--i, chiū chin-kiaⁿ, oa̍t-thâu khoàⁿ-kìⁿ sin-piⁿ ū chi̍t ê chuí-khut, chiū tiô-lo̍h--khì, sin-khu suî-sî hoà-choè chi̍t tè chhâ-pang-á. Thèng-hāu kàu Teng-lân lâi, chiū lo̍h-chuí chhē bô lāu-bú ê sin-khu, chí khoàⁿ-kìⁿ chuí-tiong ū chi̍t tè chhâ-pang-á nā-tiāⁿ; chiū siūⁿ hit-tè chhâ-pang-á, tek-khak sī i-ê bú hoà-sin--ê; tuì án-ni toā siaⁿ ai-siong thî-khàu, the̍h hit tè chhâ-pang-á tò-khì in-chhù hàu-kèng. Ta̍k-ji̍t saⁿ-tǹg beh chia̍h, lóng tio̍h tāi-seng pâi teh hàu, jiân-āu chiah káⁿ chia̍h; chhin-chhiūⁿ án-ni hàu kàu oē khan huih-kun, só͘-í oē chheng-choè jī-cha̍p-sì-hàu. āu-lâi ê lâng sī o̍h Teng-lân ê iūⁿ, chiah lâi hàu bo̍k-chú.

Che sī liû-thoân ê oē. Haih-ah! Khó-sioh chit-hō liû-thoân; thiaⁿ-liáu khiok-iá ū khiok-chiat; khó-sioh nā beh khêng chin, lóng bô iáⁿ-chiah. In-uī tuì kó͘-chá í-lâi, pēng-bô thiaⁿ-kìⁿ lâng lo̍h chuí-khut, suî-sî chiū oē hoà bô--khì; siat-sú hit ê sin-khu sī choá kô͘--ê, ia̍h boē chi̍t tiap-á kú iûⁿ kàu-liáu, tio̍k-toàn bô chit-hō ê chêng-lí.

Ū lâng khah ū káng-kiù chhim-siūⁿ, sī kóng, Kî-si̍t sī Teng-lân siū-khì i-ê lāu-bú koāⁿ pn̄g bān lâi, án-ni chi̍t-sî hoat siū-khì, ū chhò-chhiú phah-sí i-ê lāu-bú. Teng-lân khoàⁿ-kìⁿ i-ê lāu-bú í-keng sí, chiū toā kiaⁿ, in-uī chai i-ê choē chin-tāng, koaⁿ-hú tek-khak oē lâi lia̍h i khì oa̍h-oa̍h hêng kàu sí. Só͘-í kín-kín àm-chīⁿ chiong i-ê lāu-bú e si iám-ba̍t tī soaⁿ-téng, bô ēng koan-kok i-khim; ia̍h bô poàⁿ lâng sàng-chòng; si̍t-chāi choē-siōng ka-choē, o͘-ho͘ ai-chài ! Teng-lân í-keng phah sí lāu-bú ê choē sǹg-sī ke̍k tāng; koh cháiⁿ-iūⁿ jím-tit hō͘ lāu-bú ê si kui thô͘, bô ēng koan-kok i-khim ah? Si̍t choē-ok tho-thian. Koh Teng-lân í-keng kiâⁿ chiah-ê ke̍k-tāng ê choē liáu, chiū ka-kī siūⁿ kóng, Lâng tek-khak oē phah-sǹg lāu-bú sī goá hāi-sí--ê, ia̍h soà bia̍t-si; in-uī nā m̄-sī án-ni, lāu-bú koāⁿ pn̄g hō͘ goá chia̍h, thài-oē ū lâi bô tò-khì? Koh in-uī Teng-lân ê put-hàu, sī-chhù-piⁿ chhin-chhek pêng-iú chiâu-chai, só͘-í nā chhē bô i-ê lāu-bú, tek-khak boē the, kóng m̄-chai--tit. Ka-kī siūⁿ sui-jiân bû-si put-khó-chèng, iáu-kú chèng-lâng phah-sǹg oē chhut; só͘-í siūⁿ kàu ū chit-hō kan-khiáu ê hoat-tō͘ thang chhut--lâi, ǹg-bāng oē moâ-phiàn chèng-lâng. Só͘-í kóng i sī khoàⁿ-kìⁿ khîm-siù ê tāi-chì, chi̍t-sî thian-liông hoat-hiān ài-beh hêng-hàu; bô-gî i bú ka-kī tio̍h-kiaⁿ, chiū thiàu lo̍h-chuí sí, soà hoà-sin pìⁿ chi̍t tè chhâ-pang-á. Taⁿ beh hêng-hàu, khó-sioh hàu boē tio̍h, chiah chiong hit tè pang-á the̍h tò-lâi, chhāi tī thiaⁿ-tiong ê toh-téng. Hit-ji̍t ai-khàu bô chia̍h; āu-lâi ta̍k saⁿ-tǹg beh chia̍h, tio̍h seng pâi teh hàu, jiân-āu chiah káⁿ chia̍h. án-ni ēng kàu chit-hō toā kan-kuí ê kè-chhek, thang hō͘ lâng bô-gî i-ê lāu-bú sī i hāi-sí--ê; o͘-ho͘ ai-chài! Teng-lân put-hàu ê choē sī ke̍k-tāng, in-uī phah sí lāu-bú, kan-kuí ê moâ-phiàn ia̍h sī ke̍k-toā, in-uī m̄-nā moâ-phiàn hit-sî ê lâng, ia̍h sī moâ-phiàn kàu bān-tāi ê peh-sìⁿ. Khó-sioh āu sè-tāi ê lâng put-ti-chêng, lóng siū i phiàn, hoaⁿ-hí o̍h i tāi-put-hàu só͘ siat-chhut ê hoat-tō͘. Chhin-chhiūⁿ án-ni Teng-lân miâ chheng jī-cha̍p-sì-hàu; lūn chin tē-it toā put-hàu, lán ê lâng kiám thang o̍h-i mah? Goá phah-sǹg tek-khak m̄-thang.

In chiū koh kóng, Sian-siⁿ án-ni kóng, si̍t-chāi chin ū lí, chiàu-lūn Teng-lân sī tāi-put-hàu. M̄-kú āu-lâi ê lâng put-kò sī chi̍t tiám-sim beh kì-liām nā-tiāⁿ; chiū siat-sú chiong bo̍k-chú chhiáⁿ lâu i toh-téng, thang hō͘ choè kiáⁿ-sun ê lâng khoàⁿ-kìⁿ chiū oē siūⁿ tuì pē-bú chó͘-kong tau khì, in-uī nā bô ēng bo̍k-chú, kiaⁿ-liáu āu-lâi soà lóng boē-kì-tit; só͘-í goá phah-sǹg bo̍h-tit pài-kuī ho̍k-sāi chiū hó, chhiáⁿ lâu tī toh-téng thang khoàⁿ, thang choè kì-liām; kiám ū sím-mi̍h siong-hāi mah?

Koh講究新增日記故事ê冊;是講厝邊有一ê婦人人,用鑽仔來ui 丁蘭in母ê柴像。án-ni kap舊ê冊大無相同,平平是日記故事,不過增差新舊nā-tiāⁿ;今就hí兩本所講--ê,也是家己干證無影,因為家己相矛盾,新舊所記載--ê,boē相符。足見m̄-thang隨意信無下落ê雜冊;親像孟子講,盡信書,則不如無書。足見人所做ê冊,m̄-thang 無斟酌想就去信--伊。

Koh論照人ê流傳所講--ê,也是無影,iáu-kú講了較有倚理;我koh講hō͘-lín聽。流傳就是講,丁蘭本大不孝,常常扑伊ê老母;有一日丁蘭tī山頂飼羊,看見樹頂烏鴉母咬蟲飼子,十分艱苦;chiah想到伊細漢ê時,伊ê老母也的確親像án-ni來飼--伊。Teh想ê時,越頭koh看見tú仔生出--來ê羊仔子,雙腳齊齊跪落tī伊羊母ê奶邊teh食奶,心受感激,就家己想講,羊子出世就曉tit跪伊ê母,烏鴉囝看見伊ê母到,就會曉tit歡喜開嘴來笑,舉頭出聲來行禮;為何我bē-bat一擺跪我ê老母,也bē-bat一擺笑容kap我ê老母行禮;反轉磕著就受氣,ài扑就扑,ài罵就罵。一時天良發現,開聲哀傷啼哭,家己怨恨講,我怎樣會較輸tī禽獸?Tú-tú teh哀傷啼哭ê時,遠遠看見伊ê老母koāⁿ飯beh來hō͘伊食,就大步走beh去kā伊接,意思愛beh行孝,m̄敢受伊ê老母ê送飯。但是伊ê母看見丁蘭大步走--來,家己想的確是丁蘭受氣伊koāⁿ飯慢來beh扑--伊,就真驚,越頭看見身邊有一個水窟,就跳落--去,身軀隨時化做一塊柴枋仔。聽候到丁蘭來,就落水chhē無老母ê身軀,只看見水中有一塊柴枋仔nā-tiāⁿ;就想hit塊柴枋仔,的確是伊ê母化身--ê;tuì án-ni大聲哀傷啼哭,提hit 塊柴枋仔倒去in 厝孝敬。逐日3頓beh食,攏著代先排teh孝,然後才敢食;親像án-ni hàu 到會牽血根,所以會稱做二十四孝。後來ê人是學丁蘭ê樣,才來hàu木主。

Che是流傳ê話。Haih-ah ! 可惜這號流傳;聽了卻也有曲折;可惜若beh 窮真 ,攏無影隻。因為tuì古早以來,並無聽見人落水窟,隨時就會化無--去;設使hit 個身軀是紙糊--ê,也boē一tiap仔久溶到了,著斷無這號ê情理。

有人較有講究深想,是講,其實是丁蘭受氣伊ê老母koāⁿ飯慢來,án-ni一時發受氣,有錯手扑死伊ê老母。丁蘭看見伊ê老母已經死,就大驚,因為知伊ê罪真重,官府的確會來掠伊去活活刑到死。所以緊緊暗靜將伊ê老母e屍掩密tī山頂,無用棺槨衣衾;也無半人送葬;實在罪上加罪,烏呼哀哉!丁蘭已經扑死老母ê罪算是極重;koh怎樣忍tit hō͘老母ê屍歸土,無用棺槨衣衾ah?實罪惡滔天。Koh丁蘭已經行chiah-ê極重ê罪了,就家己想講,人的確會扑算老母是我害死--ê,也續滅屍;因為若m̄是án-ni,老母koāⁿ飯hō͘我食,thài會有來無倒去? Koh因為丁蘭ê不孝,是厝邊親戚朋友齊知,所以若尋無伊ê老母,的確boē 推,講m̄知--得。家己想雖然無屍不可證,iáu-kú 眾人扑算會出;所以想到有這號奸巧ê法度thang出--來,向望會瞞騙眾人。所以講伊是看見禽獸ê代誌,一時天良發現愛beh行孝;無疑伊母家己著驚,就跳落水死,續化身變一塊柴枋仔。今beh行孝,可惜孝boē著,才將hit 塊枋仔提倒來,chhāi tī廳中ê桌頂。Hit日哀哭無食;後來逐3頓beh食,著先排teh hàu,然後才敢食。án-ni用到這號大奸鬼ê計策,thang hō͘人無疑伊ê老母是伊害死--ê;烏呼哀栽!丁蘭不孝ê罪是極重,因為扑死老母,奸鬼ê瞞騙也是極大,因為m̄ 若瞞騙hit時ê人,也是瞞騙到萬代ê百姓。可惜後世代ê人不知情,攏受伊騙,歡喜學伊大不孝所設出ê法度。親像án- ni丁蘭名稱二十四孝;論真第一大不孝,咱ê人敢 thang學伊mah?我扑算的確m̄通。

In就koh講,先生án-ni講,實在真有理,照論丁蘭是大不孝。M̄-kú後來ê人不過是一點心beh紀念nā-tiāⁿ;就設使將木主請留伊桌頂,thang hō͘做子孫ê人看見就會想tuì父母祖公兜去,因為若無用木主,驚了後來煞攏boē記得;所以我扑算莫得拜跪服事就好,請留tī桌頂thang看,thang做紀念;敢有甚物傷害mah?
